i think the original verison looks better THB ...those preview screens look like they were taken on the lowest graphics settings + 720p resolution? were they taken on max settings 1440p? i can already tell anti aliasing is turned off
I don't even remember what I did yesterday, and you expect me to remember on what graphic settings I took the screenshots 6 years ago Thanks for the feedback anyway
First I want to say thanks for the mod. I think the red really suits Dawn Star, and I never noticed how much grey was in her hair in the original game.
I have a few suggestions that I think might make this re-texture even better though, and I also have an issue I'm hoping you might be able to help me with.
The issue I'm encountering is with Dawn Star's hands, which look as though they have been horribly burned. It's possible not everyone is seeing this, as I'm currently I'm running the game on a 4K display, and I'm using Nvidia's control panel to force visual enhancements such as FXAA x8, Anisotropic filtering x16 and gamma correction. These visual enhancements may have taken the problem with her hands from being unnoticeable to unmissable, but they help the old game images too much to be turned off.
In an attempt to fix this issue on my own, I examined the texture files in your mod using GIMP. I'm not skilled in photoshop, just know the basics, and I could tell within a few minutes that fixing her hands on my own was beyond my ability. I ran the texture through GIMP's built-in noise reduction filter and sharpening filter, however, and while this did nothing to improve her hands I feel it improved the rest of the texture considerably. The detail in her clothes in particular stands out better than before, and a golden floral pattern on her dress has shown up and looks quite wonderful.
In summary, I'd suggest trying out the noise reduction and sharpening filters yourself to see how it looks to you, and possibly adding it to the mod if you like it. And, if you have time, I would really appreciate help fixing her hands as well.
Thanks for liking the mod! Sorry for the late reply, but I haven't really been active for a while on the Nexus. Right now, I'm not currently playing Jade Empire, I'm more focused on Dragon Age: Origins, and before that, I was sorting out my private life. I don't have Jade Empire installed now, but I might try to install it in the near future. This mod, as well as my other mods involving Jade Empire, were like practice to me to improve my skills in Photoshop. I can definitely see the problems with the hands, they do indeed look a little burned. I can promise you that, in the near future when I install Jade Empire again, I will do my best to not only fix her hands, but also improve numerous other things involving her dress, as well as the face. Again, thanks for the reply, and sorry for replying more than a half-year later! Thanks for the patience :)
