Not sure if I'll get a reply, but I guess it's worth a shot. I've been using this save editor for somewhere around 15 years, and tonight, out of nowhere it is unable to locate the JadeEmpire.exe after I had been using it for a few weeks. I've reinstalled the game, tried running as admin, modified file permissions, etc. to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Save it as a .REG file and run it. If you installed the game somewhere other than the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin games), change the "Path" to where you have it installed.

that doesn't work for me it still can't find the save path;
for the record i run it on windows 10 and it's installed on my d: drive but it won't work.. do i need to just copy my saves to the install path mess with it then copy em back to the original spot?
Didn't work when I ran it to locate my D: drive, spent several hours messing with it and even installing the Jade Empire into the Default Location, still didn't work...
What about for the Steam version? I have my Jade Empire.exe in the Jade Empire installation folder (C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\Steamapps\\Common\\Jade Empire), but it refuses to read the Jade Empire.exe as being there. Am I doing something wrong or is there a glitch with the Save Editor?
so after doing this it still wouldn't work due to not finding the save location, I opened the "JadeEmpireConfig.exe" in the install folder and clicked the jade empire tab > save settings closed it then tried opening the save editor and some reason that fixed it for me, this needs to be done after every pc restart.
This thing broke my goddamn save, i used to grab myself some style points and now my game doesnt save, broke the entire thing, it was working fine games were saving until i used this crap, now all is broken, and i cant save my progress. Cruses on you who made this and on me for using it.
I don't know if this was your problem, but the backup file created by the editor appears to make it impossible to overwrite the edited savegame. So if you edit your quicksave, for example, all future quicksaves will be broken.
The easy fix is to manually delete the backup file from the savegame's directory.
I used it to simply modify silver. For that it worked perfectly, but I can't speak for any other alterations. Thank you for this.
Edit: I've also changed my character's name and had no trouble. The editor is being run from my E: drive while the game is on C: drive. I have the GOG version of the game. I also always make a double save just in case the edited one has issues.
Ok do not mess with alignment that thing is broken you edit something of it there's chance your save game unusable till you fix it back to positive number.
I'm getting the error message 'tree_Expanding' - 'Can't call method "fbl" without a package or object reference at jse.pl line 393.' whenever I try to open a save; any ideas?
This worked the first time I used it, but I have an issue that it no longer does since I've since had to Uninstall and Reinstall Jade Empire off Steam due to issues the game had that needed to be fixed. I've tried everything and it refuses to read JadeEmpire.exe as existing even when right next to one another. Is there something I've missed or what?

Doesn't even try...
Edit: Open Notepad++ and paste this...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BioWare\Jade Empire]
"Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Jade Empire"
"Flavour"="DVD"
"GUID"="{DD401D5B-35E2-4EA4-8585-4A44CB2DCC78}"
