really enjoying these tweaks particularly the changes to volt disrupters which were near unusable in vanilla game.

I do believe however there are some things that are a bit too strong, particularly pheromones at +6 ap which is bonkers towards the end of a mission when you have guards waking up every turn, leads to situations where i can literally sprint in front of them and end up too far away for the noise to matter, and the buff to fusion which is already the strongest PWR generator in the vanilla game.

Is there a way for me to tweak these values myself?

      Hiya, glad you liked it!

I'm pretty sure Pheromone Filters is actually +4 AP (but the description says +6 from an earlier iteration?). If that's the case, I should patch it up some day! (Yep, just checked: boost_AP_on_wakeup = 4)

As for Fusion, yeah, it was a bit of a weird last-second decision. It's definitely good, especially on paper. But kind of a toss up for me in practice. Before, the net PWR gain p/turn was 1.75, now 2.

Anyway, if you know how to make sense of some very basic programming speech, you can easily edit all of the above by using a text editor (no need to unzip files, just access the zip and pick open the files). Pheromone is in itemdefs.lua, Fusion in mainframe_abilities.lua, and then you might have to edit strings (i.e. descriptions, tooltips) to reflect said changes where applicable. You do that in strings.lua, as you might have guessed.

That's really all there is to it.

You mentioned "Activate by starting a new game and selecting Rewired Assets from the Mods + DLC list."  There is no options to select "Rewired Assests..." after clicking start a new game. So exactly how do I install this and how do I know if it is already installed?

Glad youre still updating this! Interesting changes, especially Root. Not too sure about Cycle tho, haven't tried it. But I agree in premise: most programs are too iffy to be worth considering there's already solid safe choices which are super cheap ($300 Wisp anyone?). I usually end up taking the same in every run:

Start with Parasite, then either Dagger, Lockpick 2 or Data Blast for breakers. I like to take Fusion or Dynamo for PWR. And round it up with Wisp for utility. Hunter or Tourus to deal with daemons. Maybe Oracle if available. Bless on Endless. There's very little deviation from this on every playthrough. Little reason to try most things as it's too much of a drawback / risk.

I Remember going for Wildfire and Flare on some early runs and they spelled the end of me LOL. Also losing my run to Cycle (who the hell would lock themselves to 3 PWR a turn, its madness!!!). Same deal with Charge and Overdive (unless all the right programs line up just right they are useless, jeez!!).

So far I like your changes even tho i havent tried them all. But finally gave me a reson to try Root again! Also Rogue, Daemon Sniffer and Shade, no more does it feel like a waste of slot and they are easier to replace when something better bettercomes along.

In short: you've reinvigorated my desire to play the game again so thanks =D

      Quite the write-up ;P

Yep, I basically agree with everything you just said, glad to see we're on the same page. I'm still not feeling 100% sold on the latest changes, but I did it sort of experimentally to see how it goes. Exactly for the reasons you noted.

I tried over and over to make use or Root, for example. But there just isn't any reason to. And nope, if it's only viable by pairing it up with Overdrive... it's not good.

It all comes down to this: Incognita has 5-6 slots only, and there's 47 programs to choose from.

Sure, it's a random card draw, but hitting a couple Server Farms should be more than enough to mitigate that randomness in your favor. So yep, one typically ends up avoiding 80% of programs.

Hopefully these changes make it so 50% of programs are good, and 50% not so exclusively bad! ;)

OK so got around to playing it some more over holidays. Thoughts: Ventricular Lance still feels pretty costly even at half the cost. Salvaged Disrupter is still bad. Can't it be reworked somehow? Hologram Projector, still can't find reason to use it (guards discover it too often by bumping against it). Pheromone Filter could be buffed some more. Med Gel could cost less. Anatomy Analysis is not too attractive considering killing is discouraged and EMPs disable heart monitors too *plus* kill drones and unlock safes. And I still never pick Charge or Overdrive, I rather save the $$$ for items or augments.

      Just some thoughts :)

      Hey, thanks :3

I agree on pretty much everything, but I feel a bit iffy about completely overhauling the vanilla design (like, why are Buster Chip I and EMP Pack I not sold after 48 hrs but Stim I and Paralyzer I still are? Oversight? Or why isn't Plasma Gun not sold after 48 hrs like other "useless" items mid-game, for that matter? Or why does Scan Chip need Speed 2?). Whenever possible I tried to keep it vanilla.

But yes, I never use Ventricular Lance (I actually didn't cut the cost to half, but close -- maybe cutting it to 350 isn't a bad idea!). Maybe I'll do something with Shalem's Disrupter too. I agree on Hologram Projector, but what else can be done about it?

I actually had a tiny update ready to go, I'll see if I upload it over the weekend. It's a small update. But Anatomy Analysis is among the changes. Pheromone Filter gets a buff too. And Stim IV gets a tiny tweak.

It's all in the description! I didn't have it filled in when I submitted the request to Nexus to add the game, but now it's all there. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, wasn't expecting any comments so soon ;P
