A request or suggestion: It would be great if there was an item in the base which you could move around and step onto so you could reach the higher shelves without having to adjust the height settings. There may be an object available that fits the bill - I will do some testing and see if anything works out in the radius - then it would just be a question of putting one into the base?
Well, tell me if you find any interactable collidable props in the radius, and I'll replace a prop in Vanno with it. To my extent of knowledge tho, there isnt any object like that.
Still searching - there are plenty of items you can stand on, but not move - the small stools you find in buildings work - but they would have to be static, I wouldn't mind having one in front of the shelves, but I am sure this would upset some users - will let you know if I find the holy grail :)
Actually as your mods are all separate - you could add a stool in front of each tall shelf in the middle and then people could install the stool mod if they are short-arsed like me and can't reach the top shelves easily :) The chairs also work - so having one chair and one stool in the bedroom wouldn't look out of place?
hey! good news. I've discovered a way to reimport any ingame prop and add climbable attributes to it, no need for an extra prop. don't expect this to be out anytime soon.
so unfortunately i cant make it work for custom prop models from what ive tried, but i can definitely do ingame existing props from just a reimport of the model.
That sounds worth a try - to would be cool if lots of items where climbable, I am assuming all instances of the item would then be climbable - that would be a cool mod by itself - a climbable ITR :)
This mod (the shelves) seems to disable all boxes of a certain type, I'm finding many floating items in the game that used to be on tables/boxes. Can you find a way to add the shelving without causing items to disappear in the rest of the game, or are we out of luck since there aren't official mod tools?
Found another weird issue - all of the interactable items - weapons, food, torches etc etc now are really shiny as though they have just been sprayed with WD40 and cleaned (I have uploaded some pictures) This means that the dirt/wear and tear no longer shows on the items e.g. the two knives in the picture are in the orange but show no signs of wear at all - it doesn't seem to be affecting anything else - so something is preventing the wear and tear texture/overlay from showing on interactable equipment???
this is due to the shelf mod, it replaces the sink prop and has to cross materials meaning the shine from the sink is attached to the material the shelf is also connected to. i could possibly fix this by using a custom shelf model meaning i dont have to cross materials.
Cool! It is weird that the materials pass onto all those other items - even out in the Radius, not just in the base. It just means you can't judge the quality of an item by looking at it, but it doesn't affect the functionality. It sounds like modding ITR is a lot more complex than modding Skyrim... I better leave it to the experts like yourself :)
