Good stuff, should make playing intriguing, plus can fit into the tone of the narrative of the game. What with everything being anomolous. Though, kinds surprised Arlekino didn't pop up. Both the original and Alex Terrible cover would fit at times. Regardless, great tracks in these files!
Have you ever considered compiling every song requested and making a pack that replaces every tape, not just the music ones, with music? I'm not sure how many songs you'll need for that but I'd really like it if you did.
Hey, I have actually thought of it at the very beginning, but I always assumed that people would prefer to keep the lore tapes untouched - so I made sure never to alter them.
But it really should have been an option by now.. so thank you for the reminder! I am not sure how many will fit in total, but it will improve things a lot.
I can't give an ETA on it, but I'll try to get it done as soon as possible, thank you again!
I don't know if your still taking requests. But I do have a few questions for you if you have a few moments and don't mind. Mainly what file format are you using for the music? Is it mp3 or wav or something else completely? I would like to be able to add my own music playlist if possible. That way Im not bugging people to make like 20 different playlists lol. I dont know what is all possible modding wise. How would I go about making something like that myself or commissioning something similar?
Im looking at trying to add Rob Zombies sinister urge album or maybe the Vast - Visual Audio Sensory Theater albums to start with.
ITR has kind of become my stress relief care package lol. Blaring Zombie, Pantera, Vast, Deicide and the like without having to zip tie an mp3 player to my headset would be AWESOME!
If there is a way to do it where I can just add MP3s to a file folder a mod points to and plays from. I would buy that mod in a heartbeat. If thats not possible. What would be your suggestion and what is possible?
Hey, thanks for commenting. Requests are still active, yes
The game uses the .ogg format - so first you'll have to convert the songs with Audacity Making mods yourself isn't too difficult depending on what your goal is, and music / sounds are one of the easiest to do - but the initial setup does take a bit of time (and storage space) I'd recommend joining the official ITR Discord (https://discord.com/invite/itr) - then heading to the 'modding_help' channel, there on the top you will find some guides about mod making. (And you can also ask for help anytime) The guide that briefly mentions sound modding is made by Extremerecker69 - it doesn't show the process for sounds - but it is basically identical to replacing textures. So I would recommend looking through the full guide(s) and that should teach you everything
If you can't, or don't want to do it though then let me know and I'll put them in the game Now, I haven't checked them out yet, but if its more than 13 songs then it will have to be split into two mods - and of course only one can be active at a time
And lastly I'll have to disappoint you a bit - it's not possible to have a mod like that, at least 'we' haven't found a way to do it yet - and it's unlikely to happen because there is no official mod support. It was planned, but the update was cancelled when resources were moved to the sequel instead - but.. mod support is planned in ITR2, so it might happen one day. Until then, I think opening Spotify or Youtube would do the trick, I know that some people around here like to do that as an alternative and it does work well, although having the browser open might have a small performance impact
I think a Doors collection would sit really well with the atmosphere of the Radius - I can really imagine sitting in a dark building and listening to The End or Riders on the Storm... :)
Hey, im just getting in to the game and im not sure if you're still taking requests and what not for this, but do you reckon a full kino/molchat pack would be possible? i can send my spotify playlist if you'd like an idea of the songs, keeping the songs from them you already have in would be appreciated as im glad to already see them here personally
Hey (Replying a bit early, since I wanted to update you) I am working on the pack right now (PS. Sorry for the long wait) - it should be done in the next few hours. It'll be uploaded under the 'optional files' section as a proper update
I love the playlist, and I got some new favorites too - so thank you for that! Edit: Uploaded
I've already found some cassettes but once you've listened to them, is there any other way to listen to the song? From the base PC it only plays recordings
Hey! All the cassettes you found should be available at the base PC, not just the journal recordings They all use the original song names, so what you need to look for are names like "Coauctor - Kaleidoscope Vision" and similar
Aside from that, there is no way to currently listen to music while out adventuring, unfortunately. And even though the base PC works pretty well, it's somewhat limited since it stops if you leave the rooom
i think it would be really fitting and great if you added California Dreamin' to the normal replacement tapes. i think the song is such a great fit for ITR
You can find tapes while playing the game as you would normally do so, they are regular loot - so there is no real way to tell where you will find them exactly, as it's random However, you might have missions that take you to places where you will find tapes, but those are usually Story related, and not musical ones

Sure thing - I can do that.
If you send the list, I'll get started on it as soon as I can

I can replace it for you, just let me know which song you want replaced from the original tapes
