It doesn't work. I don't understand what I did wrong. I checked if it is the right BepInEx version. No 32 next to I am Future in task manager, so 64. The winhttp.dll is in the folder with the I am Future.exe.
It didn't create a plugins folder, so I created one.
But after starting the game it doesn't stack different and there is also no config folder created.
Excellent mod just got into the game but I like playing with large stacks in most of these game types. I'm a little confused though, how do I edit the config to make say a stack of 500 or more? CustomStackSize.symlink file is showing up in my BepInEx/plugins folder after loading the game but when I attempt to edit it in notepad it comes up with a bunch of gobblegook instead. Am I editing the right file, or should I be editing a seperate game file? A little help would be great thank you :)
Hey, it's in different folder. The config file should already exist if you started the game with the mod installed correctly. <Game Folder>/BepInEx/config/CustomStackSize.cfg
I didn't test if the mod works with Vortex or other mod managers, so If it's not there, try to put the plugin (.dll file) in place of the .symlink, start the game again and check if the .cfg (config) file has been created.
DM'd you some info on a potential way to fix the bug. There's also a weird thing happening when you split exactly the default max stack count from a stack, the max stack size then reverts to default for that item in just that inventory, for just that stack, but will return to the patched value if the items are moved around in certain circumstances. So definitely some more values need patching. Hopefully the ones I sent you are right and can be patched.
Thank you very much for your help, I already did some digging around what I would need to change to fix this bug, it's just that I don't have much time for it because of work and collage...
Thank you, I wanted to change just 1 thing, but noticed that this game doesn't have almost any mods (other than the 2 you made at that time) and decided that I might as well try to make it (thanks for inspiring me lol). Added some more features to it and then someone requested this mod, but I will try to expand it and keep you company 😉
as mentioned below it also affects storage racks for planks/metal/plexi always staying at 1/10 fulness. If its not too much work i'd wish the big materials would work as normal as i want the immersion of full shelves :)
Released the new version, make sure you take out all the planks etc. from storages as it will delete the excess. Just to add, it's not always 1/10, it's just that it count the value you set as 1. If you have max stack sizes of 100, then every 100 planks will add 1 to the storage with the max of 1000 (since 10 * 100 = 1000)
Hi. I have added this mod through both vortex and manual, but no matter what I can't get the config file in my bepinex folder and I had to create a config folder just for it. The mod also only half works, I get the new storage UI but the stacks don't stack to 100 by default like it says which is what I really want.
Hi, is your BepInEx folder in the game folder? Exactly where the .exe is? There is no new storage UI, so I don't know what that might be, but the custom stacking doesn't work probably because the mod (and the config) most likely isn't installed correctly
Oh by the new storage ui, I mean the extra buttons you added on the bottom, can be seen in your screen shots. Yes the folder is in the one with the .exe When I download bepinex manually, it doesn't come with a plugins folder or a config folder but it does when I use the mod manager, but the mod manager doesn't work either. I'm trying manually again will the mod manager completely deleted from my system.
Items in the main folder are: BepInEx I Am Future_Data MonoBleedingEdge I Am Future.exe UnityCrashHandler64.exe UnityPlayer.dll
I did not change any of the files, this is exactly the files the download came with.
I do not get a config and plugins folder with the manual download, but do with the mod manager and I put the mod directly in the plugins folder but still doesn't stack to 100
If I remember correctly, the "plugins" and "config" folders are created after running the game with BepInEx for the first time, then after adding the plugin into the plugins folder you need to restart the game once again.
I think it's normal that it's crashing since it needs steam, it's just that it should allow BepInEx to make all the things it needs in case running from steam doesn't work. Unfortunately if this doesn't work, then I don't know what to do. The only thing I can think of is to join BepInEx's official discord and try to get some help from there
Well, I finally got it to work, but I don't have the UI under the storage that says take all and has the arrows that you can see in your screen shot of the mod.
I didn't add it, it's in the game by default. Maybe you need to unlock it through the storage link upgrade in the tower or upgrade the chest itself. I thought it was always there, but to be honest, I don't have the best memory...
Strange, because I only saw it when I first downloaded your mod, and then now all of a sudden it's gone and it wasn't there before. Could it be because I'm playing with controller?
Oh, and what do I change the numbers for the storage containers in the config file so they aren't game default?
They are under "Separate Custom" section, each of them (planks, metal sheets, plexi glass) have their own entry that you can change. Setting it to -1 makes it keep game's default, 0 tells it to change the value to the global custom stack size and any other value above sets the stack size to that number. Remember though that for these 3 items, it multiplies the maximum storage. Setting it to 3 will let you store 30 items while setting it to 10 will make it 100. I didn't change the UI so it will still say it's max is the default 10, but will accept more
Okay and I just want to say thank you for all your help and this mod because it was exactly what I was needing. Inventory was really stressful for me so thank you for this.
Just wanted to warn about the fact that splitting a stack to more than a vanilla stack size makes the excess items disappear, so be careful with that. Otherwise, incredible mod for this game.
The stack size in storage is also affected by this mod...Instead of having dozens of storage areas for Planks, Panels, and PlexiGlass. The storage says 1, but as you put items on it does NOT change or increase. The good news is, you also don't lose your planks when it says just ONE. Kind of a cheat when you think about clearing areas and moving stuff around. Not sure if you want to fix that or not. Still a great mod!
UPDATE: Please be aware when you use this, that if you have more than one resource box (the one you open at the tower) it will only open one of the 2 or 3 or how many you have in your inventory. Split them up FIRST before opening or you will lose/miss out on the subsequent boxes that are stacked in the group.
Hey, I will try to fix it this week if I have some spare time, if not, then definitely next week. If I am thinking correctly, I will just need to change the max stack size to the default values for those items (will of course add it to the config with a warning if someone still wants to change it). only problem will be with people that already made use of it, since it will void these items, but I will add a warning to the description. Thank you for reporting those bugs to me :)
You are quite welcome. I used to make mods for games myself back when Skyrim was popular. I always do extensive testing when using a good/great mod and report any glitches. I will be waiting for the update and any other mods you might release in the future for this game.
Hi, I know about it, just came back from work so I will continue searching for a solution (not just a quick fix). Since a couple hours, there is a big red header on the main page saying that this mod currently is not working as intended. Thank you though for the time spent to notify me (and others) about it.

Does somebody have a clue, what I did wrong?
When you download this mod, you should only have "CustomStackSize<somenumbers>.zip" file and inside there should be only "CustomStackSize.dll" file
winhttp.dll
is the bepinex dll.<Game Folder>/BepInEx/config/CustomStackSize.cfg

I am happy to see someone else making mods for this game 😄

Thanks for your hard work in any case! kudos.
The update works perfectly, appriciate it.

This mod has a critical bug: the amount of materials required to upgrade various equipment has also been changed to 100.
