just an announcement to save energy and to reduce fan noise and heat without too much loss of gaming quality. try it with all games which let you alter the relevant settings! it works. i used HZD as an example because it was easy to demonstrate the silencing effect while testing with my laptop. it should work with most other games, not depending on very high fps.
pro tip for all games: extend efficieny by undervolting cpu and gpu to a degree if possible! i calibrated my fo4 and sse game with my rtx3080 to use instead of 300W (gpu only!) and up to 120 fps@4k just 130W with fixed, capped and stable 60 fps@3200x1800p. the pc works completely silent. no difference in gaming experience on my 65" TV. just a little undervolting and running in the 65% to 70% efficiency window makes this difference.
I am wondering what your experience is with Borderless versus Fullscreen. I feel in my setup it doesn't make a real difference, running on a Ryzen 7 3800X and a GTX 1070, yeah I know, but I had to buy what I could get my hands on in December 2020.
i play borderless if possible. both works. sometimes it is difficult to get it "real" borderless. the advantage is that it is easier to witch between apps. the low fps solution is really worth to try. most games work with it and it lowers the need of energy and the fan noise drastically without changing the gaming experience much.
