Beside subjective of personal taste/preference, I knew that so many type and models of Monitors/TVs out there. LCD/LED/OLED/QLED ; IPS/TN/VA... etc. And they have their own characteristic (from neutral colors to vibrant colors, high to low gamma/black levels/white point, etc).
Therefore I made a simple adjustment UI for this mod. You can adjust Dark Level, Light Intensity, Color Saturation, etc.by press END keyboard button to show-up Reshade UI. Adjust the value to matching with your current screen (Monitor/TV) profile or fit with your taste/liking.
Happy gaming and cheers, Chris
Note: - This initial version 1.0 is NOT compatible with any HDR mode (it could be too bright and over color saturate) as it use different color range. I will release a version for HDR mode later (if I have a time.. lol).
Update #1: I've uploaded a new optional version 1.01. This is the HDR Edition. Designed for (true) HDR rendering mode. You can download it from "Optional files" section.
If you are using SDR display or running game in non-HDR mode, then please stick with SDR Edition (version 1.0). OR you may use this HDR Edition with SDR mode, if you hate colorful image from the original game and need to get more neutral colors (e.g less reddish or orange tint that originally come with the game). Update #2: I've uploaded a new update version 1.02. This is for SDR only. In this version I've added realistic-night (darker at night and dimmed at afternoon), reduced yellowish tint on desert fog, reduced a bit of vibrant color***.
Here is the quick comparison:
OFF = vanilla, strong yellow color in volumetric light and fog
ON = reduced strong yellowish color in volumetric light and fog
*** if you love vibrant color look, then you can still download the old version 1.0 (It has stronger vibrant color tone).
an experimental version, improve global lighting (also direct and indirect light) and underwater lighting/volumetric fog preview:
Disadvantaged of this version: as it will need 4-6 additional shader passes and need a proper depth buffer, then it will demand higher GPU resource. Update: I've added this version under "Miscellaneous Files" Additional note for this version: - by default, it designed to work with DLSS/FSR = Quality. If you are using different Upscale quality mode (disabled/DLAA; balanced, performance, ultra performance mode) then please set it to the equal DLSS/FSR quality preset name that you are currently use via UI. If you are not do that; then you will get incorrect depth buffer aspect ratio like this:
And on the end result you will get "ghosting shadow/AO" effects if the depth buffer aspect ratio is not correct caused by upscaler (DLSS/FSR)
After dealing for days with almost ten mods to find the perfect tone at last a truly useful reshade for my LG OLED HDR TV! Simple and efective. Just a few adjustments and I think I stay with it and stop trying it with other ones. Thank you so so much!!
Just to say : - I noticed a light performance impact (+/- 5 fps for SDR version) - there is no way to adjust Sharpness, only Dark level, color saturation, and light intensity
this custom shader currently don't have any sharpening function (because I've already satisfied with game's sharpening), so there is no Sharpness adjustment gauge for it.
