For anyone else, it's a rar file, convert it to zip.
SOme online converter like this https://cloudconvert.com/
Then go to hollow knight folder, content folder and then hollow knight data folder
There is managed folder.
The zip file will have the managed folder, make the backup of your original managed folder and then replace it with this guy's managed folder.
Voila, u did this for nothing as it doesn't work and game don't open.
There are only so many things you can do with a game, even a classic like Hollow Knight... there are people who have done everything either that they were capable of doing (lets face it some of hollow knight achievements are straight up soul murdering drudgery when you can't manage to make it past something no matter how hard you try) or that could be done in the game and they just want to be able to mess around and add new life into the game by breaking the rules and seeing how crazy it is to play... if you still say this mod is bad with that in mind, then you obviously never got to play around with a game genie back in the day... it's all about conquering a game, then breaking it and conquering it again.
Another big factor for me is that my 8 year old niece is OBSESSED with watching me play games and loves hollow knight but she would never play anything herself for more than a minute or two because the games she really enjoys are like hollow knight and would generally chew her up and spit her out and she then looses interest, lol, this way I can turn her loose on the game and she will play for hours and we will have another thing we can interact with together now that she can play and experience the game at a level comparable to the level I have been able to... and as long as I have one more thing that I can use to keep her interest in something that isn't just mindless youtube influencer videos that she manages to zero in on over everything with the mystery packs of magical toy poop in the collectable slime... OK... went on a bit of a tangent safari there folks... needless to say I would rather her waste her time playing a game using a mod rather than her waste it on something worse, lmao!
I should probably have gone back and edited this as to not make myself look like I'm crazy or just drunk, but I'm extremely amused at how I managed to take this whole thing from defending a game mod on some website from would be haters to how much I hate the unboxing vids for mystery magical poop or what ever it's called that are all over YouTube just under the influence of sleep deprivation, without whom none of this magic would have been possible! I wish to take a moment to thank all the folks who never once stopped telling me to never give up.... my day job, lmao! Also I'd like to thank this forum, for being in the right place at exactly the right time to capture me at my most questionably sane. And of course you, my darling reader all two of you the first being the poor guy who created the mod in which I have just soiled the forum of and the one person who will read this in precisely 5 years from now when they find themselves here to actually check the comments to make sure there is nothing fishy with the mysterious files they are about to put onto their pc because they decide to mod hollow knight. I'm genuinely sorry about the 5 (post edit: more like 10-15(post post edit: 20-30)) minutes of your life that was just wasted deciphering all this. At least you have witnessed an extremely rare Rosetta Stone that has the same message in 3 languages: Opinion, Ramblings, and the never before translated random crazy shite which hasn't been spoken aloud since the one time I loosely proofread it for any errors I could catch in my lowly state before I hit submit... besides the historical significance you will walk away a better person with knowledge that you should probably stop reading things on the internet when they start to veer wildly and suddenly off topic and definitely stop then they continue on for what appears at first glance to be an entire 37 (post edit- more like 263) sentence paragraph of crap almost twice as large as (post edit- lets just go with 'many MANY times larger' instead to avoid unnecessary 'mathing' while under an influence) the original subject with that same amount LESS relevance to said subject. As an example there is as much correlation between cosmic string theory and the nail color 'your favorite' (or 'a random' if you; can't decide on, don't have a favorite, or don't even know the name of a) Kardashian happened to choose to showcase in her most recent selfie tweet. This feels like the right time to change the topic again and express my opinion on sleep deprivation and how it is so much fun. I'm hoping I don't wake up and immediately remember this whole thing because I will totally delete it out of absolute embarrassment. I'm really hoping I forget all about it and stumble back on it sometime months or years from now you know once the initial dread of having been stupid online passes and I can have a laugh at how there is absolutely no difference what-so-ever between me getting plastered drunk and staying up too late. Which just so happens to opens up a brand new market for a what is essentially a breathalyzer, only it points out when someone is over the legal insomnia limit. Anything you post will be held against you for the rest of your life in the court of public opinion unless you manage to exercise your right to a delete or unsend on any post you have made that you feel to be unbecoming so long as you do so before a time in which and screenshots are taken and any and all that are will be used against you in very same aforementioned court for the also aforementioned period of time You must surrender your post or conversation where it is and be escorted to the area where people sleep in the same district you were physically at the moment of your crime. There you will be held until such a time as you either continue to embarrass yourself or serve at least 5 consecutive hours of hard sleep. Hold on... as entertaining as all of that sounded while I was typing it that would be useless without internet police which would never happen unless Metallica and the RIAA repurpose some of that antipiracy enforcement to make sure posts like this never happen. I mean they now that piratebay and any form of p2p file sharing has been erased from any level of the web I'm comfortable navigating without having to worry about accidentally selling one of my kidneys and my identity in a bundle for one low price on some illicit part of the internet... Ok I'm just wasting valuable minutes of my own life now. Time to go and do sleep.
Now after spending a looooot of time actually getting ALL hollow knights achievements I just wanted to mess around with the game and this mod has really made it fun and new again even after like probably a thousand million hours of my life wasted spent playing it nearly to the point where I hated it with all my soul but kept on until I actually made it through, lol, like it was meant to be played, lmao! So be warned if you actually haven't completed the game normally you will really mess up playing through one of the best games of all time for yourself so bear that in mind.at least do a basic clear one time before playing it with this kind of mod...
I give this mod 4 stars out of 5 stars based on two points:
1-so easy to get working even if you are someone like me who gets hopelessly lost exploring the drives on their own pc.
2-all the game breaking fun you'd want in a hollow knight mod especially if you have already beaten it or gotten tired of playing it
the only thing that I can say negatively is I don't really care for how you trigger the ability to just fly up...
if could either toggle off the fly mode or fly by holding down the jump button instead it activating automatically when you try to do a mid air jump that would make this mod absolutely perfect... having to remember to hit L1 after every midair jump to use the soul shot ability just so you can use the infinite jump ability and having to repeat that process after every time you touch a wall or the ground while jumping gets a little annoying especially in places like the white palace, omg, I though going through that crap normally was bad, it's so much worse when you just start floating up after using a double jump.
PS- thanks for making this mod, and don't mind the haters... I mean it's the first listing on the most popular mods of all time page for hollow knight on this website which speaks for itself...
