Changelogs
Version 1.1
Hotfix - the changes would not remain sometimes after fast traveling or entering an instance. Added Hotkey (default F7) to re-apply the speed changes. May have to dismount first before pressing F7 for the changes to stick.
Version 1.0
Jank release
No more "y use funny horse bird when broom go zoom"
Ideally wanted to make creature mounts viable somewhat for long distance travel at high speeds. Before this mod, the broom is just OP in speed, mobility, maneuverability. Now Highwing can have a niche when you want to take the scenic route instead of just "click green floo flame on map".
Maybe it's still in development? Idk. It does what I want it to do, but not necessarily in the manner/method I want it to. In the words of Todd Howard: "It just works"
- Significantly reduces amount of Drag force Highwing experiences
- Significantly increases Highwing's maximum flight speed
- Significantly increases Acceleration
- Significantly increases momentum gained from diving/descending
- Slightly decreases the speed required to enter the fast flying stage
Feel free to copy/paste/modify the Lua file. I left notes in it so you can learn yourself from what little I know.
This mod can make Highwing go REALLY REALLY fast. It's even more janky on Mouse/keyboard controls. Controller has better feel to it and easier control.
At high speeds your camera will struggle to keep up sometimes. I don't know how to fix this but it kinda adds immersion to the "Wow I'm flying really fast" aspect. Again, taking a page out of the old Bethesda Handbook. It's not a bug, it's a feature.
