Thank U!!! I had a game breaking bug with my quacked version that froze in the knight puzzle I can finally play the game :)) not useless like these haters say extremely life saving mod!
would have agreed 10 min ago, then accidentally hit accept when trying to create my third house character and now it's like having the tv remote just outta reach when feeling super lazy. Was all "Meh worth it won't take long, & turned into Harold and Kumar "I forgot my phone never mind we've gone too far" 10 ft from the door.
I haven't noticed if anyone mentions this would make your character name whatever the save was (I think?)
wtf you running and at what settings lmao..i will admit i clinched my a**hole on this scene but it made it through no problem on a rtx 3060 with damn near everything on high
FYI: I have a 3080ti, i7-9700k, 32GB RAM and everything - both inside and outside of Hogwarts - runs buttery smooth 60FPS on WQHD on Ultra presets without RT. No dips, no stutters. Frame timings look solid, GPU load max is 50%, GPU temp max is 70°C. In other words: there's even room for more. Game runs off a Samsung NVME.
Our setups sound pretty similar. Except i have 16gb ram and a somewhat speedy SSD, but not NVME speedy. And the game lags like a son of a bitch. I have most things on High with a couple lower, and no raytracing. Nothing but Steam running in the background. Still suddenly plummet to 15 fps often. Makes things so jarring and unimmersive. Ugh.
just to chime in the issue might be related to something on your system im on a 3090 i9-10850k ultra settings no RT and everything is super smooth never dipped below 60 so far
Issue seems to be Nvidia related, not actually a game issue. It seems to be mainly focused on 3080s and 3090s. Everyone else apparently is running just fine.
I'm on an 8700k/3080/32gb ram setup and having no issues at 1440p settings on Ultra no RT, DLSS on Quality. Locked to 60 other than an occasional momentary dip into the high 40's so far and played past the Hogsmeade introduction. There is definitely some interaction going on with some peoples systems but most people seem to be having a fine time.
6800XT, 1440p (native none of the scaling DSR stuff), 32GB RAM. 7GB/s NVMe SSD. 100-120fps during calm moments. Locked it to 60 and never see it go below that.
1440p seems to be the real sweet spot for this game. With the wife's machine, I can get a solid 30fps on a 6600 8GB w/ryzen 5-2600 and 16GB of system memory with all the settings on High. As long as god rays are off. That's with the game loaded on a M2 non-nvme.
well im running a 2070 with 32gb of ram and a crappy processor and a z170mb and a 1080 monitor running it on ultra im still getting 60+ fps it will dip into the lower 50s but only outside....
Its all about RAM guys the game just eats it i just chucked in 32gb from my other pc and now its smooth. the game needs about 20gb of RAM the game is terribly optimized.
I have all the graphics maxed and the game runs very smooth. However I turn on Raytracing, and that is when I get a massive drop. I know Raytracing was originally designed for Nvidia, but Radeon has since supported it. (Radeon 6800 XT) So I found a happy medium with the raytracing settings being the only thing I can't max out. When it comes down to it I simply run out of GPU memory if I push for more.
Now I can look at my video card, at the time I got it cost me just under $700 and say what I have is perfectly fine. Or I can look at what would be the only upgrade in Memory. A 3090 or a 4090. (3090 slower clock speed.) $1,700+ and $2,200+ for a 4090. No thanks.
Oh and word to the wise, when you start the game and it brings up the Hogwarts Legacy screen, Press (Button) to continue. If that stutters lower your graphics settings. See, problem solved before ever entering a save.
I think you guys are missing the point of the "mod" ignore the op venting about issues that most people don't have :) its just a save file that lets you skip the boring ass prologue if you want to make another character
I'm not sure how to make this work. I was hoping to use it to explore the differences between the houses. At this point, I'll just create a character for each house and run with it.

Its rather useless imo.
Hoping this works with https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/84 mod to start off with
