For Steam Deck users, the path is: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/990080/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Hogwarts Legacy/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor
I got the same thing sadly. I did a bunch of things so I don't know what exactly fixed it. I deleted the content of the "Hogwarts Legacy" folder, save and shader cache respectably located in AppData\Local\ and ProgramData. I also deleted any mods installed in ~mods and the CChromaEditorLibrary64.dll in Phoenix\Plugins\ChromaSDKPlugin\Binaries\Win64. Then I checked the file integrity with Steam so it downloads the missing file and launched the game Vanilla. It worked again. I don't recommend installing this mod anymore sadly. At least until it gets an update or someone have a new solution and tells us about it.
I downloaded this mod and my very next playthrough, I had an epileptic seizure! If only the game had warned me and I had taken it more seriously!!! I am contacting my lawyer as we speak!!!
You can combine this with my Skip Start Screen mod to save a bit more time. The black screen you're seeing is due to it reading the shader cache. Renaming the folder "C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy" eliminates the black screen. Adding the Shader Compilation Removed tweak bypasses that loading also, but proceed with caution in case performance is worse.
yes you can, it have nothing to do with the shader stuff, BTW did you find a p|ermanent solution to shader load skip? because this mod " https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/22 " worked fine the first few times but after that it stopped working
It gives me 10 sec of black screen (before the shaders preparation) Without the modification, I got 10 sec of epilepsy warning + 4 seconds of black screen.. Better than nothing, I guess ?
Ya, it just seems to remove the verbiage is all. I noticed the black screen time is basically still the same as the warning, so it doesn't solve cutting the time, just removing the verbiage.
So technically the mod removes the warning as stated, but everyone will be coming here thinking their game with start up and skip past the warning and immediate start the shader load bar screen
It sets the MinimumLoadingScreenDisplayTime to zero, so in the event that the engine loaded faster it would save you some time. I did find that some settings in Engine.ini affect black screen time; so if you have custom entries in there, particularly related to PSO and Shader caching, try removing them to see the difference. Personally I was also tired of seeing the text so it's still an upgrade, but I'm investigating trimming more fat from the frontend as I restart the game constantly.
Update: the black screen duration is affected by your shader cache. On my end it hits 100% cpu on startup. A quick first debug shows it's reading the shader cache before it shows the compiler load bar. See for yourself, rename this folder "C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy" and the game will start up faster, I wonder if this can be optimized..
