So much better than the huge spotlight that gets applied when you enter into cut scene conversations. I think a little rim-lighting is not unexpected these days so that your character isn't completely blacked out during a dark scene, but the lighting this game uses is so unnatural during cut scenes that it completely pulls you out of the atmosphere of the game.
Sure, sometimes your character or the NPC's are too dark or perhaps too strongly lit from behind causing them to be overly shadowed but at least the lighting is realistic.
This MOD seems great. But my game crashes during the shader compilation process each time I use it (and everything is back to normal when I remove the modded files from the ~mods directory). T_T
+1 to this. My game crashes as well without any progress on the shaders bar. However, putting it direclty in paks folder per PR1VACY's suggestion worked- just took a long time to do the shaders still and the bar never showed as progressing.
I gave this a try. Putting it in the mod folder and the pak folder. Either way my game becomes slower and there is a lot more pop in around the place. May be able to be improved. Its a nice mod.
Hi @PR1VACY is there a way where you can find all these character lights, for example in cinematics where there are multiple characters, all other characters still have lights above their heads (like going to classes).
In the GEAR menu where we select character outfits, hats, etc there is also an invisible light above the character.
The problem with all these lights and why they don't look great is because their intensity is at 100%
Instead of making it 0% is there a way to make it 50%?
And the second most important question, even if the above is not possible or possible, is there a way to find out please what the engine.ini or another way to tweak the shadow resolution and shadow quality of these specific lights? Because they are not related to all other shadow tweaks I have found, the resolution of shadows from these lights above characters are always bad, which is why hair shadows on faces always shimmer, and hat shadows on face always look jagged. If you can find a way to increase shadow resolution of these lights to 8192, that would be GREATLY appreciated. Non ray traced shadows, as ray traced shadows are too demanding.
To be honest I think this has to be one of the best damn mods for Hogwart's. This simple little thing made the game feel so much more real for me. It made you really appreciate the work that went into this game lighting and RTX. Your surrounding light is all there is and it makes the scenes more fitting. Dark and mysterious quests with dialogue are now in the dark. If a window has a crack of light coming in acoss my characters face it actual shows that. Well done.
i know it may be a dumb question but is there a way to just tone down the fake lightning instead of turn it off completely? i found some cutscenes with npc's at night and you cant see they face, maybe reducing the fake lightning we can get the best of both worlds

For me it's far better than vanilla.
NEVER install a mod without making sure you clearly read and understand the instructions.
