To those who have left rude, unconstructive, or nasty posts, prepare to be banned. If you have constructive feedback please do let me know 😊. This mod has been tested on different PCs by many different people and works fine, but you need to read Common Problems in the next sticky.
Use version v9.0 if you want to just jump in and play Use v9.1 if you want to customise in-game graphics.
FSR3 is working fine with v9.0 and v9.1 without any changes. I recommend:
As per the instructions add the line for nvngx_dlssg. For Steam, this is: nvngx_dlssg=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll
Copy the two FSR3 0.81 or higher files, and DLSSTweaks files to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\
Enable Frame Gen in game
That's it! There should be no changes required to the ini or anything else for it to work 😊
UPDATE: I didn't realise DLSS-to-FSR3 doesn't work with 1000 series cards. I'll update the mod to work with LukeFZ's FSR3 as well (please give me a few days)
Low FPS / Crash on startup — This game has problems in its config files which only appear when you run this mod, even if things run fine in vanilla. Unfortunately I can't patch the game directly, so I've provided tools to automatically fix it for you. In the mod go to the folder Solutions -> Crash on startup OR low FPS and follow the instructions
Disable VSync. Ultra+ enables the newer DirectX flip presentation, which doesn't need VSync (and doesn't work with it). You will see this is most new games. if you need to, please cap FPS for the game in the GPU control panel.
Empress is no longer supported. It's simply too complicated to debug just the current version of the game. Please stay with v9.0 or purchase the game if you're able
If you see dithered shadows the main pak isn't working. Please ensure "Upscaling Technology" in the in-game graphics menu is not set to "None". The pak uses FSR1 to do de-dithering on the higher quality shadows and will not work with zero upscaling (DLAA works correctly, too — just not 'none').
If you get potato graphics, set in-game graphics to Low > click Apply > set back to Ultra > click Apply
If you've used Empress, you may have a cryptominer causing problems. The miner exits when you open Task Manager. Type tasklist /v in an adnim Command Prompt to find it. Search Reddit for more info.
If you can't quite run the game because your PC is too potato, please let me know and I'll help if I can
Flickering grass with NVidia frame gen -> enable Low Latency mode in NVidia control panel (ty to DerUngrund 😊)
Any other common issues check the full How to Use and Troubleshooting Guide (Description page) and ask here if you're still stuck
Tested with the NVidia 537.99 Studio and 537.13 Game Ready driver and all is well again 😊

When using the 9.1 RTSklight; the ini file to copy in the RTSkylight folder replaces the ini that I choose in step 1, correct? It has SIGNIFICANTLY less config options. Is this how it is supposed to be?
It wasn't very clearly explained, but what you need to do is the following.
Move or copy the "Engine.ini" of your choosing from Step 1 to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor (overwrite what's already there, or just run the reset script included with the mod first).
Move or copy the pak files of your choosing (according to the mod instructions).
This is the important step: Open the RT Skylight Engine.ini file in the text editor of your choosing, Notice the section here is [Core.System], and if you scroll down will eventually find that this smaller Engine.ini file ends with the following lines. ; ----- ray traced skylight ----- r.SkylightIntensityMultiplier=0.04; uncomment for RT skylightJust copy and paste the entire contents of the RT Skylight Engine.ini file, into the Engine.ini file you already copied to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor in the first step above, replacing the existing [Core.System] section it contains - making sure to only overwrite up to (but not including) the start of the next section [SystemSettings]
From there, just follow the rest of the instructions provided with the Mod.
Thanks for the mod, I really like the look of the Fantasy Lighting. However, I've noticed I'm getting a lot of flickering shadows now throughout the world. I'm using the latest v9.1pak, Full ini, fantasy pak. Ultra settings ingame, without ray tracing. Everything else is looking and running great, just the shadows being weird. Any suggestion to fix? I tried messing with files and ini settings but seems it's linked in with the Ultraplus pak file
Just downloaded the mod; loved the color grading. But the mod makes the game look extremely grainy. Any solution? (I tried both Basic and Full ini files, same issue.)
If I wanted to get the best visuals while using this mod, what would be the best file choices? Is the Skylight better than non-skylight? Is vanilla or tweaked vanilla lighting better?
