1.0.1 has stability/bug fixes and adds the ability to rebind the hotkey via your Engine.ini file. Make sure you remove the old version. Some users have also reported needing to delete the old save file (ModLoaderSaves.sav located one directory up from your normal game saves) to avoid a crash.
Latest Vortex update may have bugged out nearly all mods. Make sure your mods are in the correct folders.
You can downgrade the game to before the 2025 January patch and it will make unofficial mods work:
Disclaimer: make sure to have atleast 70GB available before doing this.
Install the game as normal.
Open this URL in your browser: steam://open/console
Paste this in the Steam Console:download_depot 990080 990081 5173511114843368548
Wait for it to download (it won't show you any status but it will say then it's done).
When it's done. Open the depot folder you just got (~Steam\steamapps\content\app_990080\depot_990081) and copy all files to the game folder (~Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy) and choose to overwrite all files.
Are there any downsides?
You will not be able to use the in-game mod menu so all mods need to be downloaded from third-party modsites.
No Ray Reconstruction (Ray Tracing will work though.
Any patches made after July 2024 will be unpatched. (this also means all new bugs will be removed)
I've spent a while trying to get this to work, I feel like I've tried everything. F8, fn+f8, ctrl f8 and alt f8 don't work (my f8 is binded to my keyboard lights). I've also tried rebinding the loading command to a key on my numpad inside the engine.ini file following the instructions on the description, also didn't do anything. The file is in the ~mods folder, and I've tried redownloading it as well. Does someone have any idea what's happening???
For those who have an issue with F8 not working and are also using mods through the in game mod manager, check those mods. For me, 'posture check - anim overhaul' completely kills it. Disabling that fixes it.
Not that I've seen, unfortunately. I'd say see if you can leave a comment on whatever mod may be causing the prob, but most curseforge mods have no comment section, which is also unfortunate.
Yeah the comments are mostly barren on curseforge. Are there any other mods like it that help with posture? I've used stand up straight but its having some problems with wand stuff so looking for something better
Someone made like an elegant animation pack? I think. Its on curseforge, but I've never used it so I cant really vouch for it. I believe it's made by sweetlife, they made the victorian hairs and pretty dresses.
F8 not working for me anymore either. I uninstalled all my old nexus mods, and I've added a few new mods through the in game mod manager. Just tried installing and using this mod loader and nothing happens with F8. It might be conflicting with some of my currently installed mods. I will troubleshoot.
Please fix this issue. The modloader doesn't work if it's installed alongside certain official mods. I'm currently trying to figure out which of my installed mods are causing the conflict.
Today is the first I've loaded the game since the patch. Game crashed at shaders screen.... I removed all my nexus mods from /Paks and loaded into the game just fine. Found most (or similar) of my mods in-game, started a new playthrough with Curse mods active, Alt-F4ed the game once I was in the starting cave (game auto saves). Re-added BPApperate, Spell Helper, and Lore Friendly Apparition back into my game files where they were before. Loaded back into the game and loaded up my new save just fine. F8 works to pull up BPA's menu. The other two mods (which use BPApperate) work just fine. No issues at all yet playing the game. Haven't tried to add more Nexus mods, didn't really run all that many to begin with.
So basically, Load game without Nexus mods to let the game client figure itself out. Then reinstall your Nexus mods that haven't yet been migrated to Curse.
Or maybe I was just lucky and it's a fluke the game works? LOL...?
Good luck!
(Apparently, mods that silence the Floo lady, Deek, spell castings, etc aren't needed anymore...? I didn't reinstall them but have noticed the obnoxious voice lines have been extremely reduced. Not sure which patch the devs made that change but damned nice little change!)
