Anyone have an idea of what this actually does? I see a lot of crap on here from both sides. But no actual desc.

Here's a version that works for Nvidia.

At least it works well with my 4090. Though I've yet to do any comparisons really with it on vs. off to see if higher memory values the mod uses are that beneficial.

Everything about Nvidia version is the same except I had to use a lower value of D3D12.GlobalViewHeapSize for it to work (aka, keep it at 1000000 instead of 2000000. All the other increased values of the mod are still increased and it works just fine).

It works for me. However, some settings seem buggy like texture quality and draw distance when on R457.

Thanks for your efforts, to you and to the author, hoping for a slightly more functional update.

I have a 4090 and I can't seem to tell a difference between this and Ultra, even after screenshots. Thanks for doing this, though.

See any apparent differences in lighting or details?

It's odd that the mod wouldn't work on nvidia cards but it works on amd cards. Typically nvidia cards blow amd out of the water on ray tracing performance and this gen is no exception. What exactly does the mod do???

Deeply sorry for the people using NVidia GPUs which seem to be uncapable of running the mod. Strange, however, because it was tested on AMD 6800 & 7900XT and it's working fine. That said, nowadays games are ports from consoles so voilà. TBH, not the first time NVidia is underperforming at the release - remember RDR2 PC port launch.

This really is just definitive confirmation that you're a troll.

I mean the fact they went out of their way to mention JK so many times in the description said everything that needed to be said. 100% troll.

I was using a 7900XT myself and you can clearly see I'm mostly around 60FPS.

"As you can clearly see" ... yeah, from your screenshots with no system data on them, you can clearly see 60FPS.

      Why waste everyone's time?

@Feynnman, the mention of J K Rowling in the description AND the comments made it clear they're a troll and baiting people.

Rechecked the files and there are indeed mistakes to be corrected - sorry for that. The process will take time as it's not a reshade with sliders you can tweak on the fly, but rendering parameters you need to check one by one, so, please, be patient.

Unreal Engine provides a lot of cvars to tweak the rendering, but there are also custom ones from custom algorithms/plugins implemented by the devs. Even UE ones are sometimes not clear on usage, but those custom ones are a pure guess. So it's a lot of experiments and a lot of files being switched around - and here's where mistakes can happen (and did happen, so apologies once more).

Now one thing to say on the comments: stay civil. Mods are something people do for free in their free time using limited tools. Even when you pay for a product, bad language is not allowed. Let alone here - you can't demand anything. It's done, it's here, it might be good, it might be bad - you can't be sure even with all the screenshots in the world as we are by Internet where frauds are quite easy and quite frequent. But you can spend 5 minutes to check if you're indeed interested. And just post your feedback - or say "the mod didn't work for me, my specs are [...]" if you had troubles. That's it. Modders don't have an army of testers to help find bugs. And especially with graphics considering how different hardware is for each player nowadays. TBH, from our experience unpacking the games and going through files - those are full of typos and crazy values and not because the devs are bad, but mostly because they are pushed to speed up and releases are rushed. Now imagine we're not hundreds, but just an Army of Two. Usually we take time to test (and that is at the expense of the RL jobs/families), but here we went against our own rules: not pausing when tired (R457 here: yes, should have paused). And voilà, mistakes with some of the values not properly tested (GH057 here: yes, improper testing is my fault).

When Nexus started, it was a nice place with polite people: ones were happy to share their findings and others were happy to have their problems/wishes resolved. Now people have become spoiled by all the free stuff and they're no longer happy to accidentally stumble into something interesting - they demand and complain.

PS JKR was named once in the title and once in the content and for a reason - to remind where the game comes from. Not Potter generation here, but a Tolkien one, but still those books are good to read and have a unique atmosphere worthy of being talked about.

Really interested to see how you were able to access the project files for this game and open it into unreal engine to set different postprocessing setting used by scaleable group settings to place your special version without saying anything you touched not that isnt concerning just the fact how are other modders meant to keep yours compatible if they wanted to add upon what you failed to describe what you actually did. That tells me you didnt do a whole lot of anything or you would have made some kinda changelog with settings you put in and fixed all the memory and threading issues just like that when the devs are on two weeks still working through the issues to get it somewhat playable with RT on but no you sir have dont it you posted pictures with some random pak files describing literal nothing of what you changed and your confused at the reason a rtx 4090 cant run this mod but amd 6800/7900xt can that dont use dedicated rt cores like intel and nvidia but the fact this threw you off but you talk like you optimized the game now it runs perfect with the magical ray tracing , i poop out unicorns and then they poop out leprechauns who give me pots of gold. Ill get hate for telling how you should be yet everyone will get upset over nothing and make it the end of the world. This site is not what it was 10 years ago.

If anyone comes by with a solution to this problem, we'll be waiting for it! :)

The shadows look sharper from here in the photos though.
