    !! Important !!

    (Edit: 8/19/23)
While I am no longer able to update or continue support for this mod at this time, there is some good news:
Many users have reported that it's still very much usable after manually merging with Hogwarts Mod Merger.
If you attempt to do this please read carefully the instructions stated in the description of their program, specifically the
"merging outdated mods" section. You may also be able to find additional support by following the instructions others have provided in previous comments, but understand that your mileage may vary.

Thank you to everyone who took it upon themselves to assist others in the comments during my hiatus!
I apologize to those who were unable to get my mod to work correctly, and my lack of support.

Already loaded beasts will still be their previous variant. This mod will only change beasts that spawn after installation.
Either wait a while for the old beasts to despawn or force a spawn location to reset.

You can force a spawn location to create new bests by following these steps:

Catch the old beasts (Either sell or set free)
    Fast travel away
Open map and use the wait function
    Save game
    Load that same save
Once you return to the spawn location all beasts should be shiny.

Please PLEASE pretty please update this mod.
There is a big wave of new players who got a better PC to play the game and mods are not up to date...

This mod is not being updated anymore?
Side note to all mod makers: This is not new but it was very resourced and demanding when it came out so not everyone could enjoy it or even play it at the time but many can play the game these days and updating the mod would really help the community as we all appreciate your hard work.

Please either help us out and update the mod or make it open source so others take it on and work and update it. We are part of one community working towards the same goal. Making our rules on our games.

You guys/Community please spread the word on other mods so they will get updated since the last update of the game killed almost all the mods.

    Thank you

For anyone still finding an answer to get this mod working with Hogwarts Mod Merger:
    1. Checking your game build version
    2. Checking the latest Hogwarts Mod Merger work on which build

In my case: the game build version is 1145881
and Hogwarts Mod Merger version 0.12 work version 1145908 on 2nd June (this case is weird why my steam version not that 0.12 version work on)

also check the note from the Hogwarts Mod Merger

    • The automatic patcher isn't as good due to cumulative changes in the database between game versions. The best action is to ask the mod creators to update their mod, but the patcher should still mostly work fine. It may retain some entries (notably there seems to be a "MissionDefinition" or "MissionSteps" table entry that sneaks through) that needs to be manually deleted (or ignored, up to you. See if it works). Alternatively, you can merge your old mods with version 0.11.1 first, then import that merged file into version 0.12+ to cleanly patch it.
Yeah that mean the Hogwarts Mod Merger 0.12 just a cleaner tool :P

Edit: And this mod unworking at this latest build so we'll need to wait for another modder to update it. Apparently, before I edit this comments I got a Shiny Unicorn the rarest among those beast.

Not working for me even using a few mods (companion mods and a stuttering fix mod) and merging them successfully... Too bad :(

After some tedious merging and removal of mods, I finally got it to work as described. For those with issues, I recommend trying the same a little more.

    Thank you!

Does this mod still work I tried all the solutions to any problems listed and downloaded the mod merger to see if it'll work after a merge and it hasn't. Does anyone know a solution to this?

Hi Creator, thank you for the mod! However, I'm having difficulty getting this to work. I tried merging Only Shiny Beasts (OSB) with BorisJohnsonLies' VivariumUpgrado (VVU) mod, even made sure that VVU was bottom of the merging order when combinng the two files - it failed. At the moment, I do not have any other .Paks that I am looking to use with OSB, so does this mean OSB and VVU are incompatible with one another? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Do you need to capture everything to reset the beasts every single time? Or just the first time after you install??

Hi, I tried the method advised on these posts, consist in using Hogwarts Mod Merger and merge two times the same mod 8the only one i have btw) and not working with this message "constraint failed
UNIQUE constraint failed: UDSAlternativeTaskNames.OriginalName, UDSAlternativeTaskNames.AlternativeName", someone else with the same problem?

Never heard of this "merge two times" method before, you should only need to merge each installed mod once, but you do need to use the Hogwarts Mod Merger tool to remove unintentional changes from each mod (specifically those mods built/released before the March 8th/9th game patch) BEFORE you build your merged mod file. Make sure you are using the latest version of the Mod Merger as well, because older versions won't have that function available.

I tried both, merging the mod two times itself and only once but I get the same error everytime. Mod merger is freshly downloaded. My suspect go to Mod Merger for another reason, cuz when I open the exe and the window is open I can't press on configuration files button of the program; maybe is that, not properly configured, Idk. I'will try again changing some thing.

I think your best option would be to post about your issue over in the Mod Merger posts section, that way the best people to help you will actually see your report and, hopefully, be able to help you further.
