After opening some doors, (at the start of the game happened 2 times with 2 doors both behind the first few quest's locations) character freezes, not a literal freeze, can turn around but cannot move anymore, stuck at that place.
The Known Issues section of the mod's description states, "If you hit the interact key (usually "F") too soon after casting a spell the player's movement controls get frozen. You can only escape by fast-travelling or reloading a recent save-file." Is it possible that you did that? If not, were you doing anything at the time, apart from hitting "F" to open the lock?
Hello, I found one more lock that should probably have a quest condition check. It's the only locked door in the Phoenix Mountain Cave. Bypassing the lock prevents the "Phoenix Rising" quest from finishing.
I don't have a controller so I can't confirm this myself, but it should work with a gamepad if you follow the instructions to change the keybinds to gamepad controls. I don't think there are any specific bindings for an XBox controller, but I have read that the XBox keys map to gamepad keys (see here) so hopefully that would work too, though I haven't seen it confirmed. The same maybe be true of other controllers. If all else fails I believe you can use the Accessories App to map one of your controller keys to a keyboard key.
BTW, if you find that the gamepad entries you add to Input.ini are changing back to the default keyboard settings after you run the game, let me know. This happens when the game thinks that your entries aren't valid, but I'm not sure why it thinks that. In my case I assume the game rejects controller entries because it can't see an attached controller. But if you have a controller connected when you run the game and it still thinks the controller entries aren't valid then I'll need to implement some sort of work-around.
I can confirm I'm having this issue with your other mod https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/2140?tab=description Won't save my bindings settings, using a PS4 controller.
Hm... This is quite tricky for me to fix, especially since I don't have a controller to test with. As a workaround, perhaps you could use the Steam Controller Desktop Configuration to map your controller buttons to keyboard buttons? See this video for instructions:
