Hi~Hi! Hotfix 1.0.1 is just a quick fix to try and solve the bug where the application would not find the executable of Hogwarts Legacy when it was stored on a non-standard location. Hotfix 1.0.2 just solves a minor issue I introduced on 1.0.1 where some files would get incorrectly unpacked on the application's working directory.
Changes made on these versions:
1.0.1 — Addressed a high priority issue where the application would crash after trying to locate the game's executable.
1.0.2 — Fixed a minor bug that made FSR3 files to get unpacked on the application's working directory after installation.
That's all for now. The code is currently quite dirty and has a lot of residual functions from 3.0's main deploy, so expect patches to drop as I clean the source for both Ascendio Portable and Ascendio III. The application should be fully functional for everyone now though, let me now if you encounter any issues.
Texture 0x7fef445686f0 () used with different accesses within the same pass, this is not allowed. Texture 0x7fef45023420 () used with different accesses within the same pass, this is not allowed. I have thousands of entries with these two textures. How do I fix?
I'm struggling to get the installer running. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have an LCD Steamdeck and I have run the game before. I extracted the zip file to my desktop and made sure "is executable" was checked in the properties., then right clicked to "run on Konsole". I get this message:
/home/deck/Desktop/Ascendio Portable Installer/bin/SIA: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by /home/deck/Desktop/Ascendio Portable Installer/bin/SIA)
To anyone having the issue where the installer is unable to find Engine.ini and closes after. For some reason even after I had launched the game in game mode a few times the file didn't exist, only showing 2 folders in the folder specified. It wasn't until I verified my files in Desktop mode, then launched the game itself in desktop mode that all the rest of the files appeared.
So launch the game in desktop mode first before installing.
I'm wondering, what performance settings should be set on Deck additionally? Should we cap FPS at 30, 40 or 45? I just started with the game and it shows 45+ in the first location, but the game will be played by my wife and I want to make sure everything is set up as it should
Just out of curiosity, does this install run fairly quickly? I ran both the tweaks and hit next, and it immediately read “100% complete” on the progress bar.
Just to make sure I did it right, I uninstalled through the Ascendio installer and reinstalled, but same thing with instant completion.
Or is there any way to determine if the tweaks are installed correctly? Haven’t run the game in a minute to compare before/afters but wanted to give the game another go.
The installer just needs to write a few lines of code in a pair of files, it's a very fast process for modern hardware.
The progress bar is there because SIA (the installer application) might be used in the future for bigger projects, so the installing process must be future-proof so I don't have to tweak a lot of code in the future if I want to use it for bigger releases. It's also a nice troubleshooting feature as I can tell which part of the process failed just by looking at which % the progress bar got stuck when I'm developing.
I could fake a slower progress bar. A lot of games and commercial software do this for the same reason you commented: the user is not really used to see a progress bar spawn completed so one could think something might have gone wrong on the process, but not really: the progress bar won't hit 100% unless all files have been unpacked and modified correctly.
I'll consider implementing a quick 0 to 100 animation so it doesn't look as weird, I might even do a quick stuck animation at 30 or 70%, hahaha :p
Hope you enjoy the mod, have fun and thanks for downloading!

Edit, make sure you go into the bin folder and allow the SIA file to run

Can't find the game....
