I would really like a zoomed-out minimap mod. I'm a few hours into the game and the minimap was no use so far, it's really hard to recognize patterns and navigate around the world when you're only seeing half a room or a single street in Hogsmeade. A 0.5x - 0.25x zoom-out would be much better.
I have complained about of this since they gave first gameplay introduction in their stream. And yet no-one has done to this anything. Also I hate to see enemies on the map before they become hostile. It's so weird how many little tweaks could make better experience for this game.
Thank you for the mod but unfortunately is not working for me, tried to just unpack it at the "Hogwarts Legacy/Phoenix/Content/Paks" so it was inside this directory in the "mods/MiniMapUpscale" folder in the zip also tried moving the files to the ~mods as sugested in some comments.
I am testing while I am at Hogsmeade, does it work here?
Whatever you like. Files with extension .pak|.ucas|.utoc need to be under Paks folder. You can then organize them in any subfolder you like, so ~mods is also ok.
I'm gonna be honest, I had a hard time seeing the difference because your mod looks like how it should be. Here are two screenshots I did if anyone wants to see the difference with/without the mod: imgur
While it's not a HUGE difference, I can definitely see a clear difference in the image you posted. With mod, the lines most definitely look clearer and cleaner, and less blurry
My point is that this mod looks like how the minimap should be by default so I had to remove it to make extra sure the mod was actually loaded because I forgot how blurry/bad the minimap was by default, that's just this. The difference is obvious when you do a side by side comparison like I did, I just installed a bunch of mods and forgot about this one that's why I had a doubt whether it was installed or not. Anyways, still nice to see an after/before :)
Yeah, I keep thinking the mod isn't working because even with it the minimap is still a bit blurry.. but seeing this comparison, it is definitely working.
I guess an 8x upscale still isn't good enough for some areas. Baffling how the devs chose to release such a horrifically low-res minimap.

INSTALL
Copy the content of the .zip file into Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks
Do you mean "Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods" or should it really be in the Paks folder?

Thanks for creating this, nice little addition

Is there a way you can add an option to not rotate the minimap? So it stays fixed pointing north
