Hello, does this mod have any known issues with any other mod? I've installed it, but the hair seem to be flickering nonetheless. Unless it's supposed to fix the hair on only our character?
Hi, if the mod is running you should see an improvement but only during those conversations.
To get it working for every light in the game would require an alternative approach. It could be improved somewhat by not having DLSS/FSR on but ultimately it comes down to the way Unreal Engine changes the quality of shadows on lights based on light's settings, particularly on translucent meshes like the hair. See some of my comments below for more info.
Hey, thanks for the support! I'm guessing they won't work together as it mods the lighting rig to improve the shadows. It does make the effect less dramatic aswell though so you may want to check it out
Its crazy how overlooked this is, I noticed fireplaces are particularly bad on hair shadows.
To achieve this I had to find the correct object that had the spotlight component, unpack, hex edit the values and repack; which would be unrealistic for every light source and some wouldn't look right after.
Hopefully with the following info someone can find a scalability setting or engine tweak with lights to cover them all. In this case, reducing the outer cone angle from 25 to 5 fixed the flickering shadows. The lower value, the sharper they are. Another approach could be to change the lighting model in the hair shader. Skip deep shadows, it made no difference.
Update: Okay after some experimenting I've found one setting that helps work around the issue. It's not going to make it into nice sharp shadows like in my mod but it does prevent them from covering the face which is a bit less distracting (side effect is it will make the conversation shadows a bit lighter). I'll keep a better fix in mind but it's better than nothing. Maybe one day if this is resolved they can safely remove the epilepsy screen.

Go here and add the following:
%localappdata%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.Shadow.SpotLightTransition Scale = 10
update: just did
