Can anyone help me? The issue lies in the second item of the file. There is no Hogwarts Legacy in my AppData\Local folder. I know this is strange and I'm also puzzled. I downloaded the game from a Russian website, and of course, it has save files. However, I can't find where the files are located
KeminHerass - That's actually NOT a "stupid question" since Microsoft has gone out of their way since Vista/7 to hide the %AppData% folder from users by default and made it harder to hunt down the appropriate Windows Explorer ("My Computer/This PC") settings to let you see that set of folders because by turning on Hidden Files/Folder; you can also see a lot of the stuff Microsoft wants to keep hidden from you to prevent you from removing bloatware like Cortana & CoPilot but also making sweeping changes to the OS by deleting files and folders that might cause the system to crash and be unrecoverable without a reinstall (eg: "System32").
I read that Ascendio and this mod modify same files, but one thing I noticed is Ascendio didn't generate a CChromaEditorLibrary64 file in the Win64 folder.
I didn't have to overwrite one when I added your mod; I only replaced the Engine.ini file (and backed that up).
Going to try your mod; the stuttering is so bad, my game keeps crashing. :(
Ascendio is a total placebo, its creator blocked me because I pointed out how bloatware that file is, above 200mb of download to edit just a single .ini file, that guy is a liar. His response "complex and advanced vector images in the user friendly installer" bla bla. No, you wont get a difference from Ascendio and everybody should know. This however might do.
You get clear performance improvements from Ascendio. Yeah the installer may be unnecessarily flashy, but it doesn't fit the definition of "bloatware," and there are tangible results. You also probably got blocked for being rude (if I had to guess lol).
Press the windows key, or open the start menu. Type "run", this will open a command box that allows you to execute commands. In the box that opens type "%AppData%, this will open "AppData/roaming". Using the address box of windows explorer, back out into "AppData", then open "local". There search for "HogwartsLegacy", and open that folder. then "Saved", "Config" and finally "WindowsNoEditor". Place the file there.
Thank you so much for the help, sorry to bother again though, when i placed the file in "WindowsNoEditor" it says that there is already another engine.ini file there, do i just overwrite it and replace the file??

Replace it, but back up the original Engine.ini first (I have a backup folder on my desktop for things like this to put in but you can copy it wherever it appeals to you)
tried the mod yesterday and it worked quite well, fixed most of the stuttering. but when i launched the game today the stuttering came back even though i had changed nothing on my pc, i even lowered the settings but the stuttering still persists specs: 3060ti with an i7 12700k and 16gb of ram settings are on everything medium and playing on 1440p with dlss on balanced
reinstalled the mod and set it to read only but my game still looks like a slideshow, do i just need to get more ram or do you know another way? i even tried the ascendio 3 mod but that didnt help with anything either

Appreciate the support!
This file path does not exist anywhere on my computer. Very frustrating.

Open the Engine.ini provided by the mod owner.
Delete both "r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1" and "r.RDG.AsyncCompute=2" command lines.
Now you copy the file (and replace if asked) into the "AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" folder.
At least this solved it for me.
Why is it here?
2 - Navigate to "AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" and place "Engine.ini" in there.
