Fixed - delete second ue4ss folder inside Win64 folder if its there/if using ver. 1235957 download re-ue4ss ver. 1235957 the second one below the same ver. from Nov 21 2024.
Constantly throws Windows error pop up boxes which close the game if you click "OK", at which time the spell color reverts to default (red). Please port this to the game's supported modding platform and see if you can figure out the cause of errors being thrown.
Edit: Spikex18's comment below worked for me! "You need to go to your Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64 folder, and edit the UE4SS-settings.ini folder.
I'd love to see this ported to the in-game mod library, or at least have the fatal crash error fixed (see bugs tab). It seems to stop working for me randomly, and it was a pain to get it set up reliably in the first place using comments from below - I'd like more people to be able to use and enjoy it and not have to go through the trial and error I did.
Either way, thanks for taking the time to set this up and I hope you see this and have the time to give it a little TLC.
Exactly the same thing happens to me, if i ignore the message i can continue playing but the color of the wand disappears. Have you managed to solve it?
I had the same issue and i think i found how to solved it. You need to go to your Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64 folder, and edit the UE4SS-settings.ini folder.
This will not work for me no matter what I try, can anyone help please. I hate the default red, prefer the rest of the colours. I'd rather use the colour associated with the house I am in. But I can't switch colours in-game, can't get any of the colours to work what-so-ever inside or outside of the game, can anyone please help us out? Creator?
EDIT 1: To anyone experiencing the issue of colors not changing, download this version of this mod here:
Change your colour by editing the file and changing "Blue" (it'll be the first line you get at the top of the file) to whatever colour you want. Save, slap it in your Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods folder.
If you run into any issues, dump objects and properties then restart all mods, then hit Alt + H in-game, wait five seconds. = Profit.
EDIT 2: Never mind, this mod just absolutely refuses to play ball. After trying the same method again this morning when I woke it just will not change colour. I must've been lucky yesterday. I don't understand this what-so-ever lol. I've tried everything at this point.
EDIT 3: It's working yet again, I had to manually set my location in overrides so like this...
[Overrides] ; Path to the 'Mods' folder ; Default: <dll_directory>/Mods ModsFolderPath =D:\STEAM\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods
Then it started working straight off the bat after pressing Alt+H, I hope it remains this way now.
It should be at the top of the UE4SS Settings INI, Val, apologies as well for the late reply I've been struggling again, this mod decides when to work and when not too, complete mind of it's own and from what I can gather from what little I know it's usually to do with scrap code so rushed effort in short, needless to say, as much as I appreciate his attempt this mod author, it perhaps needs to go back to the drawing board this mod as half the time it works and the other half it decides not too! If only an internet Jesus could save us and rework this, I mean I've been installing and troubleshooting mods for nigh on 16 - 18 years, I lost count somewhere after 15 years now haha! I wish it was a skill issue on my part but sadly it isn't as I've tried everything I possibly could and while some attempts worked, it only worked for so long!
This mod is one of those mods on the Nexus that embodies pure frustration and after X amount of time, you run out of solutions and workarounds to get this thing to play ball sadly! It's just terribly inaccurate with it's efficiency!
P.S: - But, I hope others have better luck, some will, as I think this mod has perhaps been designed for the few than the majority, to put it in P.C. hardware terms, it possibly comes down to specifications somehow, but that's just my theory at any rate!!!
F to pay respects to the mod, and of course, R.I.P., I guess! XD
[Edit] Antivirus was having a laugh at my expense.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get it to work. I installed it prior to starting a new game, and once I passed the "tutorial" level, it worked. Then, after I closed the game and started it back up to where I left off it was no longer working, nor could I get it to work since.
If anyone has the UltraPlus mod going, place this mod folder in your ue4ss mod folder that that ultraplus creates instead! No need to press left alt+h in game to enable the mod from what the readme in this mod says! Also combined with the Protego Color changing mod makes a great pair!
Wow thanks, that worked. I put the WandColorChanger folder into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods
I think this not only fix this mod in specific, but EVERY OTHER that would requires the RE-UE4SS to work and it's currently not due to the "Mods Patch". Thank you SO MUCH! o/
I find a solution that worked for me. You need to go to the your Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64 folder, and edit the UE4SS-settings.ini folder.

Fatal Error!
Crashdump written to: C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\crash_2024_11_12_11_07_14.dmp

MinorVersion = 27
but once again. it crashes when fast traveling
