They need to add bathroom to the Hufflepuff and Slytherin Common Rooms. There is not even bathtubs in the nearest bathroom. The developers need to go back and look at that one again. Ravenclaw and Gryffindor common rooms have bathroom with bathtubs at least.
This seems like a logical step, indoor plumbing is NOT old at all in 1890, and historically should be just installed at Hogwarts like just 2 years before! People in the modern world seem to think we always had indoor plumbing, not so, we had it and then lost the know how after the fall of Rome. The chain-pull indoor toilet was introduced in the homes of the wealthy and in hotels, soon after its invention in England in the 1880s. By the end of that decade they were just experimenting with it at schools. Lidded "chamber pots", kept in specially designed bedside cabinets and used in bedrooms by ladies and invalids, and portable bathtubs, could be emptied and washed in an outhose, and we see this in the game.
The first modern-esk, flushable toilet was invented in 1596, albeit a little different than what we have now. Indoor plumbing, and the toilets we know today, were invented in the late mid-to-late 1800s, yes. Technically, they could be around 100 years old, seeing as its magic, and similar toilets were already invented several hundred years before. Seeing as the castle was created around the year 1000, and Romans had limestone (similar to ceramic) in 3100BC, its very plausible. The ancient Egyptians also had copper piping and sewage distribution. So honestly, the logic of "were invented just 2 years before!" isn't a solid argument.
However. Pressurized plumbing was invented around the 1890s, so you are also not wrong.
Just wanted to let yk that the toilets in the Gryffindor bathrooms are still dirty. Haven't checked the slytherin and hufflepuff ones yet. I can confirm that Ravenclaw is completely clean.
Yeah I'd be afraid to use those, may get the gonocaca's from em. Annoyed that Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are the only common rooms that have bathtubs! Do they think that Slytherin's and Hufflepuffs want to remain grody until they become prefects and can use the prefects bathrooms? They don't even have bathrooms as far as I can tell, although Slytherin does have the one outside and down the hall where Slytherin's Sink is located.
Offtopic, but I would like a spellcraft that adds beds and such to the room of requirement. It would be nice to have personal home touches for it even if you can't actually "rest" until a modder eventually (hopefully) adds it in. I like realism, we have a mod that adds a date, so it would be nice if needing to eat, sleep, rest and such was beneficial and even detrimental if you fail to do so regularly. A mod to add environmental issues would also be nice, like no swimming in mid December without running the risk of hypothermia killing you.
Love the clean bathroom stuff, it looks much nicer.
I did notice that one bathroom fixture that wasn't cleaned was the toilets - it was a bit jarring compared to the rest of the bathroom. Would it be possible to texture clean them as well?
To think, Wizards can repair massive bridges, repair broken down buildings and change clothing with a flip of the wand but don't have a spell to clean sinks and toilets.
