    The real question is : Why would I use XeSS instead of FSR ?
    Is the performance better than FSR for some of you ?

      For me, XeSS actually looks better than FSR 2.0. Yes, it is more blurry than FSR, but I just add some sharpening to counter that. nvidia card.

      Indeed, but instead edit the engine.ini file and add
      [/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
      r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=2.5

      That is effective and avoids having to use reshade.

      Yeah XeSS performance is better for me, and i think thats because of lack of ram. I have no idea how these works, just an assumption, but that insane stutter because of ram (8 gb btw) is actually bearable now, probably XeSS is less ram dependant or something like that. Also thanks for the engine.ini edit, really helped!

    Clever combination of sharpening methods ! I had similar results with CAS.fx (in reshade) at 0.650 (at least at 2K native, Xess ultra quality). I'm still figuring out which method looks best.

    it clearly says that it's a ReShade preset, I don't get this negativity with why or how comments. Important thing is it does the job so people who like XeSS are going to enjoy it, FSR DLSS users stick to whatever you want.

      Probably due to the nomenclature of "fix".

      Using a ReShade preset isn't a "fix", it's more a workaround.  "Fix" would be actually editing some code or config variable to improve an existing function.

      Still, if that's how XeSS looks natively, then jesus Intel need to add some native sharpening.  It's worse than the old TAA vaseline days.

      I hope you don't get discouraged, and I for one appreciate you taking your time out to make this available to people.

      I think it's also reasonable people mistook this for a modification or update to the XeSS implementation, as most people would have a simple sharpen filter on reshade already. People also run reshade sharpen on FSR and DLSS as well, so it's not really exclusive to XeSS.

    its not really a fix when xess doesnt use a sharpen filter in the upscale method. You also caused more aliasing.
