okay I think I might've found a possible fix for the ""Windows cannot find 'PeacockLauncher.bat'" error message:
1. first off, follow all the instructions Tarboy provided.
2. after that, go back to steam launch options. for reference, mine looks like this: PeacockLauncher.bat "C:\Users\New Owner\Documents\Peacock-v7.6.1" %COMMAND%
3. finally, make sure that the "PeacockLauncher.bat" part of the line is MANUALLY TYPED OUT USING YOUR KEYBOARD. this fixed the error for me and got peacock running
i think a lot of people got the error message due to copying & pasting in this line below, which is written as code rather than as plain text: PeacockLauncher.bat "{Peacock Folder Path}" %COMMAND%
I did some testing and found that copying & pasting the "PeacockLauncher.bat" part from Tarboy's installation guide and comments (which were both written in code) always got me an error message.
But when I manually typed out the "PeacockLauncher.bat" part or pasted that text from a plain-text source, the auto launcher would work and run peacock.
I assume the error came from the text of the launch options being formatted differently to the text of the actual bat file, which made steam unable to fetch and run it, hence the error message.
this is what worked for me, so hopefully this method helps other people as well :)
Still didn't work for me. Manually typed out PeacockLauncher.bat but that's good that you figured out at least 1 fix for it!
IT WORKS!! You are a wizard. Don't be dumb like me: The launcher has to be in the COMMON folder next to Launcher.exe, NOT the retail folder next to Hitman.exe
Hi what if it says it cant find PeacockPatcher or Start Server? They are both in the peacock path as specified in the steam launch options.
make sure you're dropping the .bat file directly in the peacock folder next to them. The only other time I saw that error was when my peacock folder was in the HITMAN3/Retail folder which it shouldn't be. Otherwise, I do not know.
DL'd Peacock and placed it in Documents (away from common folder)
DL'd auto launcher and placed bat file in Hitman3 steamapps common folder next to launcher .exe
pasted address of peacock server cmd & peacock patcher into steam launch options.
receive this error.
Tried playing the shell game and placing the folder/bat file in other random locations to no avail. Not sure where the hang up is as this should work since all files still have same naming convention and the batch file works as intended when not set as a target for steam. Just letting you know for future troubleshooting I guess.
Is there a way to implement bypassing the launcher alltogether and just pointing to the hitman3.exe in the retail folder so the launcher doesnt even show? W11 Peacock 7.6.1 Game Ver 3.210.2
Doesnt work for me. I have the standard names for the 2 peacock files that came with it, tried to copy the peacock launcher into 1) the hitman 3 folder in the common folder 2)the common folder itself 3) the peacock folder and everytime I then write the command into steam and start the game I get an error starting hitman that it couldnt find the peacock launcher file ... I guess its the .bat file itself that doesnt work, it doesnt even find it, although I dont really understand why ...
Edit: I copied the Peacock Launcher file into all the 3 sub folders of hitman 3, now it works but fails to find the 2 peacock files although I did the path correctly. I used this command "PeacockLauncher.bat "C:\Users\xxxxx\Dokumente\Peacock" %COMMAND%"
I'm not sure why it couldn't find the Peacock Launcher file, it should be able to find it as long as the bat file is in the Hitman 3 common folder. It's the same folder that Launcher.exe is in. It's working for me. Here's what my launch options looks like: PeacockLauncher.bat "C:\Users\user\Documents\Peacock-v7.4.1" %COMMAND% Here is where I placed the bat file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\HITMAN 3 What are your Start Server and Peacock Patcher files called? The new version I just uploaded should work with "Start Server.cmd"
Try reinstalling the latest version of Peacock and see if that works.
No longer works out of the box, but I was able to get it working by: 1. renaming Start Server.cmd in the Peacock folder to StartServer.cmd (removing the space) 2. placing PeacockLauncher.bat in the Peacock folder instead of the HITMAN 3 folder 3. copying and pasting Launcher.exe from the HITMAN 3 folder into the Peacock folder. 4. launching the game via PeacockLauncher.bat in the Peacock folder, rather than through Steam Nevermind, clicking play displays an error that it's missing files so this mod is just broken
Hi, this mod looks really useful and I would love to use it but please could you provide a few more instructions. For example where am I placing the file? You said in the Common folder but do I literally just place it there or what?
Also with the Data Path do I literally just copy and paste the line PeacockLauncher.bat "{Peacock Folder Path}" %COMMAND%
Sorry if this sounds stupid but I don't want to accidentally mess something up.
Yes you just place the .bat file in the common folder (you can easily get to your common folder by right clicking Hitman World of Assassination on Steam > Manage > Browse Local Files.
PeacockLauncher.bat "{Peacock Folder Path}" %COMMAND%should be pasted into your launch options. To get to launch options, once again right click on Hitman World of Assassination on Steam > Properties > General. Make sure you replace {Peacock Folder Path} with the path to your Peacock folder (the path is just the file location where you installed Peacock). It should look something like this: PeacockLauncher.bat "C:\Users\user\Documents\Peacock-v7.4.1" %COMMAND% (I apologize for not responding sooner, I don't check this page too often)

Are you using an OS other than Windows?
