Good mod, and I have an idea - what about separate version that adds camera server only to The Source mission? Would make a lot of sense there. Can even commission that for a small price
I wasn't sure if this was normal... I had tossed a propane tank next to this recorder, then tossed a 'Big One' firework for an explosion. But it didn't disable the recorder. This was in a freelancer takedown mission.
great mod. Never should have been removed in the first place. Bangkok is the worst map of the series. It's obvious they really cut this one to pieces for the final version. Use the WARP PHONE mod to get out of bounds on this map, you'll see a whole bunch of unused space that was originally set to be playable then cut upon release.
I always hated Bangok for its limitations on SASO as well as other player imagined challenges like no KO, fiber only, no accidents, no poisons etc. Even with restored camera recorder, this map still has so many limitations in reaching the exits and useful restricted areas compared to other difficult maps, even Colorado. If You ever plan on adding more features or making a separate mod I'd suggest these:
1) Remove the camera inside the restored recorder room. You can't really manually disable it without being spotted, not to mention the guard next to it if you want to do no KO run.
2) Speed Boat escape is a restricted area = no SASO without some nasty trickery (not that hard, just doesn't feel right or fun). Please make it unrestricted
3) Basement exit: remove one of the 2 guards. you can't pass without luring out the standing still guy. A single coin throw is not enough. Just 1 guard + camera is enough of a problem.
4) Ken Morgan & Bodyguard AI adjustement? I mean, it'd be nicer if Ken went to throw up in the bathroom with a closet instead of the empty one, especially when its occupied :o his guard will just stand in place making it impossible to hide the body, until the moment another npc comes to the bathroom
Every other map has better ways of dealing with such nonsense, it's because devs added annoying stuff that is not hard, but just specific challenge impossible. So the best way is to undo some of the changes, like this pretty recorder mod ;)
Yeah, Bangkok is probably the hardest level to complete SASO. (Colorado isn't as hard once you figure out a consistent route) Here's some ideas for how to deal with the junk for now:
You can use a remote emp to destroy the office security box, though if you're going in suit only you can crouch and throw a large explosive over into the corner and if the door to the security room is open when the bomb goes off, civilians nearby should be in a "panic" state, which should let you run by them undetected. (You can also trigger this panic state by pulling a fire alarm.)
Don't bother with the speedboat on master difficulty. It's always easier to use the basement exit. (Weird that Hitman 3 added a new exit on the south balcony overlooking the beach, but only in freelancer mode)
Use a fire extinguisher to knock out the guards and destroy the camera with an explosion, or fire three shots with a silenced weapon from the pier to lure the guards to where you are. Just be sure to be away from where you fired those shots or else they'll shoot you on sight.
Get into the bathroom before big boy Ken walks in and drown the man in the toilet for a classic "accidental" kill
I thought I had a Mandela effect with this one. When Hitman 2 released it was so weird not to find recorder here, after a while I just said to myself "Guess I just remember wrong", thanks for the mod, endorsed.
Thank God. The other one on this map is in an absolutely terrible position. Worst part is the doors require a keycard swipe every time you want to open them.
