Sadly, for whatever bloody reason, the author decided to remove the structure of the original code (the outcommented segment at the end of an assembly script). Makes things harder than necessary to figure out the byte area to upgrade this script. Thanks buddy. /s
Thank you for making this! I love how IOI just released patch notes for March stating that this wasn't easy to add as a toggle, and boom you did it! Maybe they should hire you!
I actually did it 2 months ago, but I was told to post it here, so I did. What IOI said has to be either a lie, or that they just don't know how to code. If I'm not wrong, there's a bool that should be something like "blockCameraSwitch" or something like that. And it's constantly set to true. So I just changed it to set it to false. It's as simple as that. I literally searched for it, found it, and fixed it in 5 minutes or less. IOI could do it way faster. Just stop setting the bool to true at all points and that's it.
Wow I can't believe it was that easy! I was wondering what could possibly prevent them from adding it, I thought it must have had something to do with VR mode code and maybe that's why it was giving them trouble. Thank you again for doing this!
Can it cause problems with a few specific locations such as Dubai penthouse floor? That's the only half-passable excuse that I can think of for not adding it back into the game.
Hmm, I am not able to activate the script in CE. - Game is updated to the 3.20 March 30 update. - Just installed CE 7.2 using defaults, declining the 'freebie' software crap. (CE 7.2 dated 2020-November 1st) - I did NOT set a 'URL' upon initial CE startup. (I don't know what that is for in this case) - Opened the Shoulder Camera Switch Enabler.CT file, and left 'values' at default when it asked me. - Memory Scan values start at 0000000000000000 and stop at 00007fffffffffff. - Clicking the 'checkbox' does nothing. (checkbox does not fill in, game has no changes)
I tried this by staring CE first, staring the game and going to main menu, then alt-tabbing to open and activate the script, and testing, not working. I also opened and activated the script after starting a mission, still not working, except when actually aiming down the barrel.
Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I also tried it with the CT file in the HItman3\retail folder, no luck.
It does work on the last version. And the rest of things you said are fine. Do try again and after trying to enable it, right click the title of the script and it should say what's the problem.

I really don't know why it didn't work before. After trying it out and posting, then retesting and posting again, I let the PC sit for a while and Voila!, it worked when I went back to the game.
Kudos for enabling Shoulder switching! BTW, it works with the Cheat Happens trainer.
Thank you. Thank you so, so much for this. It's one of the few changes with Hitman 3's controls that I think was blindingly stupid from IO. This may sound petty, but it has legitimately put me off of playing the game a few times. Thanks again.
