I dont know if you are still active, but I noticed an issue that might've been overlooked. I didnt do any further testing, but when using the emetic poison flower in the shaman's cauldron in Santa Fortuna, there was smoke coming out of it. I don't know if the issue is the cauldron or the plant, but by the description it must be the latter.

The mod only removes the poison smoke effects added by Hitman 3. I just loaded up Hitman 2 and confirmed that this is a very rare case (probably the only case) of existing smoke turning green when you add emetic poison. That's why it isn't covered. But thanks anyway for reporting it!

I tried removing other mods to check if they were the cause, but never thought of loading up 2 to check. Weird that it was there from the beginning. Anyway, appreciate your mods. Cant imagine playing without them

Hello my friend, I had an idea for this mod that perhaps you could implement.

You see, I don't think these smokes are necessarily a bad thing, I just don't think they should be visibile normally at all times. Look at the camera grid for instance, that one can be toggled in the settings to only be visible during instinct. It would make sense because then it's 47 visualising things in his mind. But in reality there's no smoke, so you only see it with instincts. The green camera grid already works this way if you toggle it in the settings and make it visibile in instinct only.

At that point a player can choose to disable instinct overall if he wants a bigger challenge, and then he loses the ability to see the smoke too.

I just don't think the smoke should be visible outside of instinct, just like the camera grids. But I think it makes sense to see it with instinct. Is it possible for you to add an option in SMF to only hide the smokes ONLY outside of instinct? Is this possible to do at all?

Hi there. I looked into something similar a while back for my "Silent Cameras" mod, but I wasn't able to come up with anything useful. I agree that it would've made so much more sense if it was included only as part of instinct. I might've even been okay with that.

I should mention, though, that I'm more biased against poison smoke than literally anything else in the entire Hitman franchise. I became a Hitman modder because of how much I hated it. It's the singular reason I looked into whether modding Hitman was even possible. It crossed a line for me, and I felt compelled to not only fix it but to release that fix publicly. It's not just that it's an immersion killer, or even that it's patronizing. It's that they dropped this bomb at the last second, when Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 (and Codename 47, Silent Assassin, Contracts, Blood Money, and Absolution) are thankfully free of it.

Sorry for the tirade. I should probably be grateful to poison smoke. "Hitman 2016 Movement" wouldn't exist without it. :)

    Thanks man

But the question why in the hell,IOI added such lame mechanic to the game? As if it isnt already dumbed down hitman experience...

I ask myself that all the time. Best answer I've got is to make more money by appealing to the absolute dumbest of casual gamers. Poison smoke was the reason I started modding Hitman at all.

Is it possible, from a technological standpoint, to remove the smoke effect for poisoned glasses, but keep the poison smoke from the emetic gas device? Because since I downloaded this mod, the emetic gas device doesn't give off smoke anymore.

Thanks, I actually didn't know about that! They must've reused the same effect instead of creating a new one. They cut all kinds of corners for Hitman 3, so it doesn't really surprise me.

It wasn't easy finding a way to remove it at all, but I'll definitely look for another one. In the meantime, I'd give up a lot more than that just to get rid of food/drink posion smoke. It's not ideal, but invisible gas seems more realistic to me anyway.

Version 2.0 has resolved this and many other missing smoke-related effects. That was not easy, but there are no remaining issues.

No problem! Thanks for pointing that out! It started me investigating this, which is when I found out how bad it actually was.

Big thanks for this, this should have been something you can enable/disable in the options.

Of all the features to be added, this is the most pointless. Thank you for this mod.
