God the new method for the ASI loader is a gigantic PITA for the UWP (gamepass) version.
Took over an hour to get to a resolution because of Windows' BS. Probably could've avoided it all by just trying to add the .ini file in the first place instead of following the instructions on the ASI loader github page.
So, for gamepass users, in the same place you put the ASI loader and scripts, also make a new .ini file called dsound.ini (new text file, show file extensions, rename it), and put:
[GlobalSets] DontLoadFromDllMain=0
At least for me, without doing this, the game just crashes without error once getting into the game world.
Now with this all resolved I don't even want to play anymore. Yay..
Hi, nice mod! I was wondering what tools did you use to edit and repack the files to be something usable in game, since besides the .pak file it also has .ucas and .utoc. I'm only interested in replacing the Select button (or Create on DualSense) with a trackpad icon, I can edit the texture but I have no experience with modding, only got as far as extracting the .pak file but have no idea how to repack it back to something the game can pick up.
Used Fmodel to extract the original texture from the game Then I edited it in photoshop And then i imported it into Unreal engine Made sure it had the same folder structure as the game did Enable IO store in the settings (So it makes ucas/utoc) Assign the textures to a separate chunk. Cook it And then take the files it generated and put them in the hifi rush folder ^^
I got it working by reverting it back to the old version on steam (but with lots of effort.. here's what I did):
Enable steam console (youtube/google how)
Downloaded the following:
download_depot 1817230 1817232 536904880516024073
and
download_depot 1817230 1817232 536904880516024073
Combined both downloaded depots into one Hibiki folder - then replaced the original files folder with this (make sure to turn off auto updates on steam)
Then ran the patch on the exe in the binaries. Then followed the PS icons instructions.
Hope it helps someone. Wish they would just add PS icons...

If this isn't just my end and a browser issue, then check the ASI loader github page for instructions, specifically #14.
Both go in here:

Go to releases instead and get the latest version.
And then rename it from "dinput8.dll" to "dsound.dll"

Some parts of this game can be unplayable if the screen prompts Microsoft buttons while you have a ds4.
