What ESRGAN model did you use for this? I don't think it gives the best results compared to what the Gigapixel mod does. Although, I think ESRGAN has the potential to upsize world textures better than what Gigapixel does, you just need to find the right model. Someone at http://reddit.com/r/gameupscale posted a rock texture model that might work well, or you could try the manga109 model.
I try many ESRGAN models, but I don't remember, what use in the final. I even have create new model, because result with searching model be the bad. With Gigapixel and manga109 I don't try. I see on it, maybe it's be realy best.

Many assets are broken or cut off when the widescreen option is selected in modern versions of gzdoom.
