Updated the mod for the patch after May. Also added an option where you can only use the Helmet
(because the body messes with some other armors and people complained about that, unfortunately I can't do much about that since that's the way the armors in game work. Some armors use similar parts)
1) The textures on the gear seem to flicker depending on lighting and camera angle.
2) There are pieces of gear hovering above the character, as you can see here. They appear to be the chest and waist bandoliers and the left shoulder armour.
I am trying to figure out what you mean... but the issue is not present on my end.. Are you using HD2manager to install the mod? There might be some slight flickering due to it not being an advanced material (it uses an older method of texturing for HD2 mods)
I'm using Mod-Arsenal which should have 1 to 1 compatibility to Mod Manager. But should you load into your game and look up the floating meshes should be present.
I know for a fact some mods are compatible with hd2manager and others with arsenal. (most work both ways, but there are exceptions..) maybe that glitch is one of the exceptions?? I don't know
I don't want to sound stupid, but have you tried to dive into a mission with this mod? The floating meshes/armor pieces are right above the character. Also try moving more towards the section of the ship with the TV/Mission Success elevator where the ceiling is higher and then look up, like stated before and by others, the floating armor pieces are right above the character. I don't mind the flickering armor since it doesn't bother me at the very least.
Some things to note are I've tried installing this manually and I'm still having the same problems. Also tried installing with HD2ModManager and no luck. Anyways, thank you for releasing and maintaining such an awesome mod!
Could this be also added to the Cinderblock? It's my most favorite Heavy armor and I love the Siege-Ready passive. I've yet to see a single mod for it.
I've got good news and bad news regarding how mods work for Helldivers 2. In order to turn a mod work for another armor you pretty much need to do all of it from scratch. Which means a ton of work.. (Loading the new armor, adjust everything, replace meshes, bake textures, rig from scratch, weight painting, create new materials and of course work out any bugs along the way)
Good news, is that if I get enough votes for a new armor, I'd consider making it. (Unless of course there's a commission involved)
I'm aware of the issue and waiting for the new Blender SDK to be released so I can easily resave the meshes. Currently it needs a bit work and with my current life work it's kinda hard to do that.

Personal note, could you make the pauldrons/arms bigger to make them more proportionate to the rest of the armor?

Here's proof it works fine on my end
