As of the 6/10/25 01.003.101 update, this mod is not functioning Updated!
New Patch, same ol problems. Will work on gettting this patched as soon as possible. Well finally got this thing patched. Make sure to only use ONE language deployed. 1.1.6a: Exertions are now combined with the main files. This should prevent any weirdness if you forgot to also install the Exertions which will result in loud panting from the helldivers in-game. 1.1.6b: SEAF-Soldier NPCs now get the same helmet voice filter. Works really well with mods like the Clone Troopers for SEAF (hopefully we get more SEAF soldier replacer mods). Finally got the manifest down so its all-in-one for these guys. Just use the mod manager of your choice (HD2MM or HD2Arsenal) to choose what language you're using.
WARNING: Because Exertion is a separate file-archive from voices, this can mean if you have any mods that makes changes to that archive (f6fb08cc02d24255.patch_0) can potentially overwrite and disable the exertion already packed into my mod. Example being the Dead-Space death notification sound. This could bring back that weird panting sound that people reported earlier before 1.1.6a Quick fix for this would be to download the Audio-Modder tool (get the latest version) and use the Combine Mods feature.
Please let me know if there's any issues, the recent patch to the game has apparently broken a bunch of audio mods and some audio in vanilla are also broken.
Great job with the mod! I'm getting issues where the character doesn't pant while running, making it awfully silent. Are there any possible fixes for this?
After testing with vanilla voices, there is a panting sound, but it's very low (even with voices maxed out in settings) So the problem might be that it's too quiet. I'll release a version with the exertion volume increased on next update this coming week.
Well I got bad news. I thought it was simply the exertion volume being too low, but apparently thats not the case. Seems like modifying the exertion files just causes it to mute no matter what. However other sounds like getting wounded, clambering, diving, etc still work. Just the panting sound when sprinting doesn't. Verified this in the modding discord after trying to figure why it kept muting. Think it's an engine/game specific issue when modifying the files. So most likely going to be out of my hands for this.
Hello, just wanted to start off saying I really like this mod. In-game it's very immersive and fun to listen to. I am having trouble with it however. Or at least I think so. I've been getting crashes to desktop at the Geological Survey missions regularly lately, and after disabling mods to test if it was something wrong with the vanilla game (no crashes), the first mod I re-enabled was this one and I got a crash to desktop again during that particular mission. I'm running the latest version, the one that combines exertions into the whole mod, using Arsenal v0.28.1. I do have the Voice Filter mod at the top of my mod list, not sure if that's relevant or not just letting you know. I have also noticed a weird behavior, relating to the videos you posted where you showcase the helmet voice filters in the character customization menu. Whenever I click on a voice pack to test if the mod is working, the first click or three will play the relevant voice (filter mod working) and then afterwards be completely silent. I couldn't click the same voice pack multiple times and still hear the audio. The really weird thing is that I disabled the Voice Filter mod (and all other mods) and then went to the character customization menu to test the voices out like in your example videos, and the same problem persisted. The example voicelines would play, and then go silent.
For the first issue regarding crashes. Not particularly sure on what could be causing it, its only voice-lines thats been changed and I'm pretty sure AH hasn't added any new voice lines that would shift the lines around. Recent patch may have caused something again. I'll test it out in-game later on. For the second one, where it'll go silent, this is a known bug ever since the June 10th patch. If you click the voice lines too quickly it'll break and make them silent and it takes a while before they speak again. Think this can potentially happen in-mission as well if too many voice lines play in quick succession, which can explain why when you tag something your character will be mute at random.
Well I just uninstalled the game, deleted all the leftover files I could (except for one gameguard file that said it was still in use, for some reason), reinstalled, and tried out the mod by itself. No crashes. Tried it out with all the other mods I like to use, and again, no crashes. So it seems like things worked out, for now. The only issue I noted was the helmet voice filter seemed to disable itself midway through the full mission I did for testing, but eventually it reactivated.
Heya friend! Is there any page, or video that could guide me to the location of where to deploy one of the languages? Asking cause I've downloaded the Japanese version, and it (As you've quoted in the guideline) muted every diver. Would apricate the help.
Oh, Deploy just means activating and installing the mod before running the game. So if you're managing the HD2 mods with either HD2ModManager of HD2Arsenal, there's usually a button that says "Deploy mods". Otherwise the mods won't work.
So if you're using the Japanese version, only have that downloaded and deployed in the mod manager of your choosing.
Mod works but there's a minor bug where whenever you're running you just hear a really loud full volume gasping in your left ear, it's really weird and offputting.
However, since updating from 06/10, I keep hearing the almost lustrious heaving breathing of my dear Helldiver at FULL volume directly into my ears. Tested this on a few missions, same situation lol, doesnt matter what voice type, its always the female Helldiver panting.
Might be something worth looking before the gooners find out lmao
After some testing, did you make sure to also install the Exertion file under update? Because when I was in-game I was wondering why the panting sound didn't have the filter applied and forgot to re-enable Exertions to be deployed.
Gonna make an update to combine the exertions for each languages when I get the time. Done.
I like this mod cuz it makes it more realistic if you know what I mean and I noticed a few people are saying that the mod is broken I don't think that's the case because I happen to purge all the mods I use and they still aren't talking the voices are completely broken whatever the update did caused pretty much everything not to work when it comes to voice lines to some extent.
To confirm that it's not the mod besides purging them I happen to go and look into it and yes it's happening to others too.
Had something similar as well when I purged files. Seems like new patch screwed up some audio. Whether modded or not. According to the HD2modding discord. Audio mods are broken. Thankfully no crashes, it'll just be mute. Though someone said a quick patch will fix it. Working on that right now. However I did hear mods that affects tracer effects might cause crashes. Haven't checked that out yet.
I'm more worried if there's a June 12th update once the new warbond is out, since that one has a higher possibility of breaking A LOT of mods.
it does appear that vanilla voicelines are kind of fucky and sometimes dont activate, but this mod does reliably mute all of them
also maybe im an exception, but not every audio mod seems to be broken. Plana mission control, along with all of my gun audio mods are still functioning just fine, the only mod in my list that broke was this one (and BAR)
I see so it seems to be on both sides? Other words no matter if you modded it or not the voices are broken and yeah I will say having no crashes does make it better but I can confirm so far I haven't run into any crashing due to those mods.
But I hopefully this all gets fixed soon because for me personally I can't play the game when the helldivers and the other characters and TV and PA system are completely bugged.
I did want to extend a continuation of what I was saying cuz I found out some more info it seems like they've added some voice lines that shouldn't necessarily be in the game which is what's causing certain issues.
So when it comes to voice mods I think they just need to be updated and we're golden because I updated one and she's speaking just fine it seems.
I wanted to give you one more reply so you're aware of this even after updating your mod the voices are not working this is nothing on your end this is on arrowheads end, I did some mild testing with vanilla voices and modded ones in different scenarios.
What I found out is the moment you change the helldiver's voice no matter if it's modded or not the audio breaks for quite a few things on the ship itself and the helldivers won't say anything outside of grunting and yelling when you magazine dump a machine gun, they won't say anything when you mark something but yet they will say something when you unmark it they will say never mind.
Outside any of that the helldivers won't speak and when the audio breaks if you switch the characters voice the only way to fix it is restarting the game.
Either way thank you for updating the mod and once Arrowhead decides to fix the helldivers, everything will be fine
Yeah, there seems to be a timing issue with the audio. I noticed this in-mission as well. For customization, if you're previewing the voices, if you click the voices too fast, it'll break. Hope this gets fixed soon, especially since AH is about to take their mandatory vacation soon.
Yeah I mean I just wanted to let you know in case others bring it up I tried to make a post about it on other mod creators voice mods that I use just to make them aware and I posted on the subreddit and steam.
But nevertheless I hope they do fix it soon.
But at least when they do you're mod and others should most likely work again as intended.
INFO REGARDING UPDATE PROGRESS So good news. I may have figured out what was the issue. Was going mad trying to figure out why the voices kept going mute no matter how many times I patched it. Seems like it was due to me running more than one languages of this mod deployed at the same time. Tested it by having only one language deployed at a time and voila it finally works. Bad news, this might mean there wont' be an "All in one" option like before. I'm gonna see if I can solve that problem.
Once I finish updating this, just be sure to only have ONE language-version of my mod installed and deployed.
I loved using this mod! But this along with some of my other audio mods are falling apart too as of the 01.003.101 patch, update mustve done something :(

Gonna combine it with the main downloads when I get the time cause I think I figured how the recent version of the audio modding tools works.

Just be careful of what you delete in you HD2 folder, it might be the vanilla files.
