I just used this mod and it worked great. One thing to point out, is when I first started it up and loaded back into the mission I had already done the weapon loadout portion. So whatever weapons were set before is what I was using.
I started out with Warren and used his 10ga Quadruple Shotgun and the game hung once I clicked confirm. So I restarted and tested out with the Baby No-9 he had equipped and it worked.
Immediately after I had Warren use the Volcano Pistol and it had no problems.
On the next turn, I tried using the Quadruple shotgun again and it fired.
So it seems like the first turn / shot seems to have more issues. As that was also what initially caused my game to freeze, then when I restarted, I encountered the black screen.
I get the same error you report in the description. This didn't work for me, sadly. I get the black screen error on both the Demon Hideout and Masked Man Hideout after doing the optional Bank Job mission.
However, if you do the Demon Homestead Mission, then the Bank Job mission you can do the last mission without the bug.
FYI, the Volcano pistol is not a fate trader gun as you stated, you pick that up when you visit the "Hope" location and search the town. I have used the Fate trader guns on other missions in other scenarios without problem. I've also bought multiple versions of the same weapon in other scenarios, again without any problems. I tried selling all my Fate Trader items before the mission and it still errors.
Thanks, I removed the reference to the fate merchant from the description. I haven't encountered any such issue with weapons, so I have no idea what causes it nor how to fix it, I just know that people in steam thread reported that firing Holy rifle, Volcano pistol or Repeater rifle freezes the game in this mission even with the patch.
