No joy getting this to work. If it makes a difference I'm using Steam and my filepath for Hardspace doesn't match the one in the instructions, but I'm extracting to the folder with the shipbreaker.exe which is Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hardspace Shipbreaker\
Anyone else having any problems or have any solutions?
The official discord is easier for me to support, rather than comments here - but have you definitely got bepinex installed? You should have 'winhttp.dll' next to 'Shipbreaker.exe'. And then post what your paths for the installed mods are.
I have Shipbreaker on Steam now (the instructions were written for gamepass), and my Shiploader is installed to: "steamapps\common\Hardspace Shipbreaker\BepInEx\plugins\ModdedShipLoader\ModdedShipLoader.dll"
I got BepInEx up in there, and I installed this mod. I see a new ship in the free play menu, but all it says is ship type and Ship role, and when I try to load it, it just sits on the loading screen and never gets past like 10%. I don't see a Wombat anywhere. I also don't have a content folder either in my hssb directory, or the bepinex directory. Something go wrong here?
I figured it out. This mod is supposed to go in BepInEx/. But Vortex will put it into BepInEx/plugins/BepInEx/. I believe Vortex realizes it's a BepInEx mod and so tries to be smart and puts the contents of the file (a BepInEx directory) into BepInEx/plugins/. But you've also got a patcher. It must be manually installed.
I killed the Wombat without issue. Thanks for this. Creating ships seems like something modders would naturally want to do so it's a shame there's only two. But then there are few mods in general. Anyway, good job.
I think the game just never took off enough to get enough modders on board :( I suspect it's the same reason the game appears to be considered done - not enough sales to justify DLC or anything :(
There is a slight issue when cutting the cockpit hull free, it sorta freaks out and jets off a bit, otherwise the Wombat is a simple but well built ship.
The overall mod is amazing and opens the door wide for a wave of community ships and I could I'd endorse it a thousand times. It might just save this game's player base.
Thanks for having a go. Yea, I've got my fingers crossed we see some interesting player ships, the game needs it!
Regarding that bug, yea, it was an issue with the custom modelling I did for the cockpit (and the sides, tbh). Probably not worth the effort to fix, but I might get around to it.
