i could help and make a tutorial on how to import it and get it set up so its visible in different maps, its not to hard to do, i also imported the skin to forge world, i made a quick vid showing it in forge world and showing off the model. very cool mod! :)
the importer tool was created by forerunner. he has posted it in the shotty squad discord server as well as th r/halomods discord server. i will get a link to the importer download and a video made by rejectedshotgun on how to import them for you.
Model converter tool, New version supporting Halo 3 and Halo Reach This tool supports Halo Reach, Halo 3 and Halo 4.
How to use: For a guide on how to use this tool, see this video (updated for new version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyMIc5DUUGESpecial instructions for Halo 3 only:-"Compression info" does not need to be copied from a tag into the converter for Halo 3-After importing, at the same time as you copy the zone datum from one tag to the other, copy the address of the "Compression Info" block from the imported tag to the other tag special notes for Halo 4 support:-The "skinned" vertex format is not supported, instead Halo 4 has a format known as "Rigid Boned" which is supported and will be able to cope with everything this tool makes possible-The raw data is not compressed for Halo 4 due to it requiring a different compression algorithm, so be aware of filesize when using this tools OBJ Compatibility:-Must be triangles only: quads and ngons are not supported and will stop conversion (will not crash the tool) -Every part of the model which you want to map to a separate node should be split into a separate object before exporting, shown in the video. -Every part should need one material/texture set only: if a part needs more than one, split it by material into multiple -Correct model orientation and scale is shown in the video
I extracted the sidekick files into forge and made a custom weapon out of it seconds after downloading. Would love to use this in my mod and Im guessing by permissions I have the green light? Double checking because its the first mod ive ever made and dont want to step on anyones toes
