Hey man love Mythics Halo 3 mod can't wait for his updated version.
Any chance you'd add ragdolls into this mod for headshot kills? but make it so that Elites ragdoll regardless of headshot or not. And then also make it so that all human weapons including assault rifle can cause bodies to move around just so that the ragdolls can be more dramatic and intense??
Halo 3 just uses the same 2 Elite death animations heldover from CE and in a game where physics are possible like Halo 3 it feels out of place seeing those older animations.
Would also be cool for ragdolls to work on Brutes and Jackals although their death animations are much better so to have it so that headshots cause these enemies to ragdoll similar to how it works in ODST!
I really think this would make Halo 3 shooting feel more modernized
I dont really modify ragdolls or anything however modifying bullet impact to make corpses move is something that can be done,problem is modifying the number would include making anything else move them even more because every collision works on a acceleration scale(this is how its named the thing that helps move noninanimate objects)somethings use more acceleration scale and some use less for example most weapons use 0.2 which is very small but noticeable while explosions like plasma grenade and spike grenade use 3 which is significantly higher,now imagine if i increased the number to bullets to about 1.5 which is about the number needed to move a body,that would include moving everything else,vehicles as well would be extremely flippy and this is why I did not add insane acceleration scale(one of my mods did have it at some point and i had to patch it out.Hopefully you understand and wont be angry at me for not making such a modification otherwise vehicle sections would be unplayable.
There would be another way to increase acceleration scale and that this through the actors themselves but then again that would translate to everything that does acceleration scale and to the actor i increased acceleration scale bullets would move them but things like grenades would yeet them accross the map.
I know it's possible because Mythic made the Spiker function this way in his mod. The Brute Spiker weapon is able to move corpses without moving everything else. He's also disabled the death animations on Elites before as well in one version of his mythic halo 3 overhaul.
bUT YA give the spiker a try it may even be apart of your mod as well since yours is built on mythic overhaul 3. youll see what I mean.
Yes I have made the spiker,mangler and mauler have greater impact in their projectiles as well and they are quite noticeable in the game as well,of course the extra things Ruby added are things that are above my level of knowledge.Of course that I'll do anything in my power to make the games as appeasing to the players as possible,I mean thats the whole idea and why I learned modding in the first place it was to fix the not so good difficulty and slow paced action that made missions way longer for no reason.
I just uploaded mithicjackuis 2.0 version of his mod, its finally here, do keep in mind its on 2 separate files cause it was way too large so youll have to download both if you want the full campaign,have fun.
