Forge World Ultimate is an upgraded version of Forge World featuring a completely rebuilt forge palette.

Featuring a variety of custom objects as well as classic objects from Halo 3, this canvas is designed to push Reach's forge to its limits - limits which were in fact hit, as I quite literally cannot add any more tags to the map file.

Some of what you can expect to find includes, but is not limited to:
  • Custom terrain pieces (Planes, Flats, Hills/Bowls, Ramps)
  • Trees of all shapes and sizes
  • Foliage
  • New forerunner-themed objects created based on geometry from Installation 04 firefight map (cex_ff_halo)
  • Sandbox and some Foundry forge objects
  • Particle effects
  • A couple of easter eggs hidden around
  • And more!

Installation:
  • Drag and drop "condemned.map" within the .zip file into your Halo: Reach maps folder. You should copy, rename, or otherwise back up your original condemned.map before doing so.

Known Issues/Bugs:
  • Some sandbox objects may have strange shader issues in specific circumstances
  • Particle effect gizmos (the blue holographic object used to edit the object in Forge) is visible in Custom Games - you should ensure that this gizmo is hidden within other objects
  • Terrain slopes have weird lighting
  • If any future updates were to introduce or remove any forge objects (though this is quite unlikely due to the tag limits), any existing map variants would likely become unplayable. As such, any future updates which introduce new objects would likely be a major version change to indicate as such, and would replace a different map besides Condemned
  • Co-op or other multiplayer functionality may not work properly

F.A.Q:

Q: Why is this version 6.0? What happened to versions 1-5?
A: The first 5 versions were made using Assembly for the Xbox 360. For more information, see my old blogs from 2015 onward on either XboxChaos or on my personal website.

Q: Can you add any more objects?
A: Unless a method to use or create shared cache files becomes possible within the Editing Kit, likely not. The map is currently bordering on the limit of how many tags a single cache file can contain (not to be confused with the filesize itself, think more like an actual limit on the amount of files, regardless of size). As such, any palette additions would have to come at the cost of others.

Q: Can I play earlier versions of the map?
A: Yes! All early versions of the map, going all the way back to 1.0 are archived on my personal website. Note that all versions prior to 6.x will require either a modded Xbox 360 (RGH or JTAG) or Xenia.
