    I'm not sure about anyone else, but the latest version uploaded just recently causes a UE4 crash when loading Winter Contingency. I've definitely made sure I'm using the clean map as the original, and it still works fine on the previous version.

      as it happens, there's another bug I've had with the animations I'm just noticing, where the foley sound effects seem to be missing, So I'll have to re-do the changes anyways. I didn't really have time to test the changes extensively when I made it last night. I'll be sure to get the new version out asap. Until then, use the old version. I left it up in case something like this happened.

      Does it happen with any other levels? Or is it just winter contingency?

      Edit: The sound issues may not need a total re-do to fix, but will still need a lot of tinkering to fix, as, for some reason, the sound references in the jmad files for the elite animations are mysteriously nulled. Since the sound effects for the elite animations are apparently different, and refuse to be imported. I need to go in to each jmad file for each weapon's elite animations, and fill the nulled sound references with their spartan equivalents, in the absence of elite sounds. I may be able to take a shortcut and export these edited jmad tags and import them to the other maps, but that still requires a lot of tinkering
      In short: I have my work cut out for me, and I'd like to not do more work than I need to by re-doing EVERY map. I will, however, re-do those that are broken, If it's just winter contingency, that makes things a bit easier.

      I just checked all of them, and yes, it's just Winter Contingency that crashes.

      thanks. I should be able to get a fix out today. The edited and extracted tags are working on other maps, so that should make it faster to get everything fixed.

      Works perfectly for me, both me and my friend didn't need the optional files at all, either. Thanks very much for making this.

    Actually, so far the first 2 actual levels of the game just get stuck on that black screen.

      are you remembering to run with anticheat off? I tested these as I created them, so I assumed they were good to go, but I didn't test them being applied via patching. Itll take me a bit to redownload the base version to test this for myself, so some troubleshooting on your end might be able to help sooner than I can.

      Alternatively, make sure you're applying the patches to completely unmodified original maps. If you forgot to back these up, steam can validate your files and restore them. I don't know if the microsoft store has an equivalent.

      edit: downloaded the base mod, applied the patches, and they work fine for me. Try the above fixes, else, I don't know what else to do.

      Yeah i ran it without Anti-cheat, i had the Murloc special so i guess the base version works? I'll give it a try to see if it actually works.

      I'd really love to play this mod but i have no idea of what i'm doing wrong, as i'm following the instructions and i've used the patcher before.

      If it's just these 2 maps causing the issue, I can try uploading the raw map files as an optional. That's really the last idea I can think of.

      edit: the raw map files are up. I'll have to make some backups and verify files to make sure I have uncorrupted vanilla backups. Future updates SHOULD be fine now? I don't know how my backups could've gotten changed, but they should be re-backed up now with steam verified files.

    I installed the patches and when i tried to play Winter Contingency the game just get's stuck on a black screen with the music still playing.

    Great mod. i just played through reach all over again because of this. i really liked the headshot capabilities you gave some of the weapons, it really came in handy on the final mission. i hope you make more stuff like this.

    also, was the elites helmet supposed to be off on the mission after the corvette (i cant remember its name)? because the first time i loaded in after beating the corvette missions i had a helmet but i quit and resumed later and then it was gone. it was really cool but i dont know if that was the original intention.

      It's a glitch, but I intentionally left it in. It's what happens if you leave player customization enabled on a biped swapped elite. It tries to apply spartan armors to the elite model, which the game can't do, so it ends up placing nothing. I wanted it to feel like, after the mission which needed the space suit (a small detail I added to the corvette mission), He removed the armor that didn't survive the reentry.

      well i personally really liked it, seeing the elites head with no helmet is a first in gameplay if im not mistaken. thanks for the great mod, im going to continue plying with it!

    Very nice, glad someone made this a thing so I don't have to download an entire overhaul (I don't a complete overhaul of the game JUST so I could play as an elite) and also, about the whole not being able to assassinate elite ai, I actually like that because it reminds me of Halo 3. I wish I could play as my General. Last thing, mutation injected humans are overrated. WORT WORT WORT

    seams like a cool mod but the i used assembly and nothing happened can you not just like upload the patched files so we just have to drag them into the folder

      the raw map files are too large to upload on the nexus all at once, Are you using the patcher tool within assembly or just trying to open the patches in assembly? Try opening assembly, clicking on tools at the top left, then map patcher. The patcher should have 3 tabs, create, apply, and poke. click apply, set the patch to the patch file, the unmodified map to the blam map file of the vanilla mission, and the output map to the directory you want the modded map file to be created in. Do that for every map file, then move those into reach's map directory.

      If you're still having issues, I'll put raw map file downloads on the to do list, but it'll take a while to repatch to the FP/TP versions, compress several packs of 2-3 maps at a time, and upload each of them as a seperate file, and I'd rather wait till I'm done with the weapon sandbox changes I'm working on so I don't need to back those up as well.
