I hope I'm missing something but having the MXAO enabled absolutely ruined the skybox for me, everything was shaded boxes as in a circle around my screen. I followed the instructions to the letter but perhaps I have the setting slightly off. Is there a way to fix this?
Is this compatible with Halo: Reach RTX? Im looking to play this game (the only halo I haven't played) with insane visuals. Do you know if these will work together? Also, will mods work on the Microsoft store version of MCC? Don't know if theirs a compatibility issue there.
Halo: Reach RTX is a Reshade preset just like this mod, and doesn't actually add Ray-tracing, Global Illumination, DLSS or Real-time reflections. While there is a work-in-progress Ray-tracing/Global Illumination shader that can be used with Reshade, Halo Reach: RTX doesn't include it. (Currently in beta, can only be accessed by subscribing to the creator's Patreon)
You can have Reach RTX & Reclaimer Reshade installed at the same time, but you won't be able to run both at once. You can switch between them at any time by opening the Reshade overlay (press the home key) and switch between them. (Check my mod description for more detailed instructions)
I don't own any games on the Microsoft Store, and my only experience with modding MCC on it is from helping a friend roughly 7 months ago. From what I remember it is possible to mod the Microsoft store version of the MCC, but it requires a decent amount of work. I recommend getting the game on Steam if you plan to mod, as its a MUCH easier process. Check the link below for more info on modding the Microsoft Store version.
I wasn't too sure if this was worthy for a bug section (Correct me if I am wrong on that).
But I decided to try out the reshade on normal Halo: Reach and it was gorgeous. It looked great.
Now I wanted to improve my experience with not only a reshade but with 'Halo: Reach Evolved'. (Plus two other mods those being an Audio SFX mod and the 'Unlock everything mod' if it helps mentioning these)
And... The reshade suddenly became super ugly? The skybox has multiple rings with different shades of black, the mountains of in the distance turned into polygons.
I learned immediately that it's the reshade AO that's causing the issue but it seemed strange to me that the 'Evolved' mod would cause issues to the skybox for AO.
I may try and experiment myself with the AO to "fix it" and uninstall the 'Evolved' mod if it actually is the culprit.
If this was an issue that has already been brought up, I apologize for this unnecessary comment.
Sorry for the late reply! I wouldn't classify that as a "bug" per se, more like a general compatibility issue. In this case, it looks like the Evolved mod modifies/adds a lot of visual assets, so it could very well be the culprit
I designed the preset around a clean installation, and if other mods are causing issues, I'd recommend trying to tweak the AO settings via the Reshade control panel to try mitigate the issue.
Love it, endorsed! The only thing I switched off is the filmic pass, but I love how you've gotten the DOF to work, other reshades use it pretty brutally IMO. But yeah with the filmic pass off it translates really well to the other campaigns.
The mod is a ReShade preset. Its only an .ini (text file) that holds the shader settings, and a .jpg for the UIMask shader. Its packaged with the correct folder structure, so all you need to do is install ReShade, then extract my mod to the same location that you installed ReShade.
There are more detailed instructions in the description, but feel free to let me know if you're having more trouble =]

Doesn't this affect the other games? (halo CE, halo 2, etc.)
PD: thank you for the reshade
