While it seems like a rather restrictive change, I wanted the player to not end up feeling like a one-man army; what you often feel like as a spartan. Especially when it comes to vehicles, the rocket launcher in particular simply makes encounters a little too easy for my liking. The intention behind the change was for players to approach vehicle encounters in a different way, in particular, making use of marines still alive on the level.
You would probably need to buff the marines then. Also there's nothing wrong with having the player still be able to use a rocket launcher. You could always just nerf the number of spare rockets the player can carry, otherwise dealing with wraiths would be a pain in the ass. A mod still has to be fun, after all.
I don't really want to toot my own horn, but a while ago I made a playable marine character. playable marine biped ?Notably, It includes a first person model for the hands as well as a custom animation set. You obviously don't have to, but feel free to use any part of my mod to suit your own.
But regardless, this is a really cool mod. It'd be awesome to see this on other missions with a heavy marine presence.
Thank you so much! I'll be sure to use the custom FP arms and animations in the future! (If I can work out how to :'D) I'll make sure to credit you too, of course!
I was mainly waiting to see what the reception was like for the mod from the community, it seems relatively positive thus far. I'll likely continue with Project Marine for the other marine-focused missions!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I must confess that I only playtested the mod on Legendary difficulty, but I'm glad that the experience still holds up well on Heroic too!
