Hi! I played your mod using the downgrade method and used the 3rd person version as I wanted the original experience! :3 It was really fun and kick ass all the way through! I loved using the powerful covenant weaponary and going to town with all the different weapon combinations. I loved all the various tweaks you did to the weapons, vehicles and new enemy encounters and allies. The Halo 2 Camo was very useful in all combat situations, I used it for both offense and defense and to be sneaky and speedrun past stuff! :D It was a really well made and fun mod, I loved played as a Bad Ass, Sexy Sangheili! :3 I'm going to play Halo Reach Eternal now and will let you know my thoughts on that when I finish it! :D
So I figured out a method to get this to work. You need to stop auto updates for MCC in Steam before continuing. You can simply right click, hit properties on the game in your steam library, updates, and select "Only Update this game when I launch it." If you set it to pause background updates while a game is open as well, steam games don't update when launched, so you won't have to worry about it preventing you from playing.
Follow this guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lzXf0AuLmA This is 100% legal so don't worry about this. Video explains why. Read below once you have watched the video so you understand it.
You will need .NET in order to download these depots. Here's the link: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download Just grab the .NET SDK x64 for Windows and install it. If you want to know what this is, it's a software framework. You need it so you can get the command "dotnet", which is shown in the video in the batch file you will be editing. If you do not do this, the batch file will just instantly close with no errors. This is because it cannot find the command "dotnet.exe".
For the batch file, ONE SPACE between every single command and entry.
For the chosen depots in the steam database, choose March 6th, 2020 as the depots you're after for the base MCC and Reach Campaign. They need to match or you'll get fun versioning errors.
If you're getting time outs in the cmd prompt as it's downloading, just ignore them and let it do its thing. Depending on your internet speed, this can take some time to download. Keep in mind you can only download these one at a time.
For creating the two additional folders for MCC, the reason for those is so you don't have to redownload MCC again in-case you want to go back to where it was. So you can basically swap at any time. You can just cut and paste as needed. I would highly suggest using this backup method yourself. Also make sure once you've made the backup of the new MCC to completely delete the files in the actual Master Chief Collection install folder before pasting in the old version of Master Chief Collection into the install folder. Do not delete the folder itself.
This is an inconvenient method yes, but it works for the time being. This should also work for his Spartan version of this mod too.
i downloaded the mod and installed it on vortex but i when i click play campaign (on anti cheat disabled) it just plays the vanilla campaign, help im new to this stuff!
