About this mod
Balanced weapons for OVRDTH's Selector. Not unrealistic/fantasy or other weapons, just the same parts as in game, changed around and valued differently to produce different flow and cut.

My personal headcanon for this mod is to imagine that all these weapons were ordered together to be in a set, so they look similar but are all balanced separately and made for different purposes, all coming from the blacksmith in the village of Wilgartswiesen.
Eventually I want to make a pack for each weapon in the game, released separately depending on their area of expertise (swords, polearms, maces, etc.). For 1.0, I will be releasing just the first of that, John Longeswarde's Art of Swordplay, which will contain my personal longsword, dagger, greatsword, and arming sword/buckler. Every pack will start with no clothing or armor, so that you can put your own on if you'd like.
The longsword is what started the whole pack, and I have spent countless hours on it, and use it the most out of all weapons. It is also probably the one people will hate the most, if they do not know how to use it. Refer to the paragraph at the end, before the instructions on how to use the packs.
I do not know much about balancing a greatsword or arming sword, so I have done them to the best of my ability as to what I might like and the qualities I value in each, they are however the least extensively worked with, so take their use, and possible bad use, lightly.
The proportions of the greatsword are based off of the Goliath Fechtbuch, it is not meant to be a very heavy weapon, but instead nice and quick while still being long. On a short test it seemed fine against armor, but it may vary with use. Arming sword was light and fast, flew straight. Seemed good enough to me, just changed a couple blade and pommel values to shift balance.
I will warn you that most of these, if not all, are often quite snappy, and especially if used improperly, will be unwieldy to some. The remedy to this, and why I use it even still, is that you must keep your swings perfect, draw from one to the next and try not to stop in between or curve unnecessarily, lest you seek its wrath. As long as you pace yourself with your cuts and keep edge alignment you will be fine. Then you can use the snap to your advantage, for more structure, for feints, for short edge cuts, and more, as I do.
Instructions:
Extract the modpack is your downloads folder
Go into the extracted folder, and enter the "John Longeswarde's Art of Swordplay" folder (or whatever the name of the folder is for that pack)
Copy all the contents, and go to your OVRDTH's Selector folder (Documents\OVRDTH's SELECTION\pooled_saves).
pooled_saves is a hidden folder, so hit "View" at the top of file explorer, then "Show >" and select "Hidden Items"
Within the pooled_saves folder, go to whichever subfolder you want to put all the loadouts in, and then paste them there.
After that all you have to do is load them from OVRDTH's as normal
Further Customization:
The output.json of each loadout is present within their respective folders, just go in, change what you like, save, and then do the normal process to save it back to the "SG Player Equipment.sav" file
Every loadout is presented with no clothing or armor, only the weapons. I recommend before trying to add in your own file data in notepad, to spawn in what armor/clothing you'd like with Enhancer first, put it on, save it to loadout from Enhancer, then back on OVRDTH's. Only after all that can you then use the normal to-json to get that on notepad, and edit from there. This keeps the file data formatted properly and reduces risk of invalidities in the code that would prevent saving.
