the screenshot may not as sharp as when you looking on in inside your HMD or slightly blurry, since I only captured it on left eye view port and then the capture software resize it back to 2160p (16:9) in my monitor.

Still works with the newest reshade 6 :)

Just download from reshade.me, open reshade setup, run on alyx (directx 11/12). then rename the dxgi.dll to kernel32.dll.

Then put contents of the simple-realistic inside the reshade-shaders folder (located inside game folder).

rename crubino.ini to ReShadePreset.ini and put in main game folder not in reshade-shaders!

    Enjoy with newest reshade!

    after:

    Reshade 6.x.x dll

Doesnt work anymore - it shows ui in vr but doesnt actually seem to be hooking in-game. Solution i simple - download latest reshade, install as dx11, rename dxgi.dll into kernel.dll, then either put rest of your files (except dll) in game folder or put your shaders with the rest of reshade ones in its own folder and then copy values or adjust your own for the shader settings.

My point is dll is outdated

Idea: Add 2 shaders, the one that controls the sharpness is standalone and only has to do with sharpness, and other shader that just applies an LUT with the settings that the preset comes default with. Changing LUTs can be hard but if one likes the stock settings of the preset it would make no sense to waste performance with color and levels correction that can be done with an LUT for a lot cheaper to the same quality.

Hi mate, sorry for being so late to reply your post. I've just read it.
Thanks for your feedback and idea.

Before made this one, actually I'd already test with LUT. But not very satisfied with the result especially related to light and shadows area . Also it caused banding and very noticeable with my HMD lens (very close distance view). And with LUT you cannot let your friends to set/adjust their own dark level, light intensity, color saturation (LUT bound to 1 file LUT that matching with your current screen/your liking, and you cannot change high, mid, low tone on fly with gauge). I have Oculus Rift S and HP Reverb G2 here, and they both need different value settings adjustment for each HMD since their screen technology are significant different. Also, a friend here (my neighborhood) need his own settings to matching with his PIMAX HMD.

Yes, you was right LUT sometimes may cheaper, but It will bound to specified screen only. Your LUT file may matching with your current screen but maybe it's too bright or too dark or too dimmed or too saturated in your friends screen.

Btw, did you try this already or just guess related to performance result? as for color correction and levels, I've combined only 3x3 colors data table (and I measured it only took about 0.2ms GPU time ~ almost the same with LUT shader with 32x32 tile). The sharpness shader was the one that took high performance penalty (but I'm doing on purpose to gain sharpness in my HMDs and my friend's HMDs), not the colors and dark levels corrections.

      Cheers,
      Chris
