Thanks for this. But for the record, you can skip using the modified file at all based on your steps since you're literally just replacing the entire mod with the original anyway. In other words, one can simply open the original file, change the MaxHealth value and be done, which is what I ultimately did. I personally went with 350 for something a little more reasonable.
As for the God Mode feature, it's cool that it's in the game, but it doesn't do a whole lot for you, giving you a fairly low damage resistance % buff that increases by a mere 2% after each death. I got mine to 24% before I realized I didn't have the patience for this anymore and instead sought out a mod like this.
Didn't work for me, it crashes when you begin a new run, though one time I managed to fight briefly until I got hit- which it then crashed again. The bug pup up says this: "Script Crash: Combat Presentation Jua: 1354 bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected. got nil)" I don't know if it helps solve the issue. I also did open it up in Notepad and changed the value slightly lower than 5000 as it was already at 5000 hoping it would fix things but to to no avail.

I am not sure why I didn't use the God Mode feature ingame instead of using this mod
