About this mod

It just works somehow

A few weeks ago, I created a mod that adds Aspect of Chronos: the weapon that lets you manipulate how fast time passes. I think that's cool. It took a lot of math and playtesting until the timebending mechanic felt good to use (instead of just changing the speed out of nowhere). But there was one question left: what if you could timebend with ANY weapon?

Who is this mod for?

  • If you like slicing/punching/shooting things extra fast
  • If you sleep while playing with Aspect of Rama
  • If you think Forced Overtime 2 is too slow (why?)
  • This mod is for you!
(If you play on console, this mod is not for you)

What is timebending?

Timebending is a new effect that works with all your weapons. You can disable it in the mirror.

Every time you hit an enemy with your Attack or Special, you gain a little bit of speed. Keep attacking enemies to build up more and more speed, this will cause everything to move faster. And by everything I mean EVERYTHING: you, your attacks, enemies, projectiles, your dad, Aphrodite's little heart whenever you don't pick her in the trial room... Everything gets faster.

At the end of the day, you'll take a lot more hits from enemies. To compensate for that, now you take less damage the faster time passes, up to 50% less damage at max speed. When you stop attacking, you'll start to lose speed, until things get back to normal.

Your cast, satus curses and any other damage source will NOT affect the speed in any way. So, if you want to avoid building up speed, give short breaks and use your cast from time to time.

A few things to note:
  • Hitting multiple enemies at the same time will not increase the speed faster
  • Damage boons/hammers do not affect the speed
  • Hermes' swift strike/flourish do not affect the speed either
What I'm trying to say is: just forget about numbers and play as usual, the speed should follow somewhat naturally.

Installation

All you need is Mod Importer, check this tutorial for instructions on how to install mods.

After you're done, open the game and give Skelly a few hits, you should see the speed effect on the edges of the screen. If that doesn't happen, something went wrong in the installation. It's also possible that this mod is conflicting with other mods. If that's the case, try removing all the other mods from your Mods folder, then run modimporter.exe again.

FAQ

Is this mod balanced?
No. If you want to change anything, there's a bunch of variables you can tweak in the file TimebendingData.lua

What weapon/aspect should I...
