Weapon Customizer 8.0: This is the first part of the final version. Going forward, there should be no more breaking changes in the settings. Most of the mods went through some rework to remove rough edges and should feel closer to vanilla guns while providing alternative playstyle. Some of the options might still be too powerful, so let me know if there's any bug or game breaking options.
The next major version should include BYOG.
Version 8.0 Summary:
- New Enhanced Mod Some weapons will see "Enhanced Mod" which either buff its base stats to be more competitive or make it more forgiving.
- These are removed temporarily and will be reintroduced in the future patches. - Special Fire mode - Frame type options.
- These are removed permanently - Caliber options - Firemode - Melee stats Customization
- New "SpecialMod" Each weapon will have these new mods which will unlock a new alternative playstyle to the weapon. There are too many to describe here so I recommend using the Display Modded Weapon Stats mod to see the detail.
- Bullet Type Mod This modcan now be applied with Special Mod. Some weapons, mostly semi-automatic, will have aggressive version of Bullet Type.
I keep trying to change the scope on the short rifle and every time I start a mission the scope reverts back to its default in the cfg. This happens with every compatible scope that I've tried.
How's progress on the mod going so far? Is BYOG implementation going smoothly? And if you could how would you estimate your progress to completion realistically?
I got a proof of concept working but I need to spend some time writing them all together. So it might be awhile before that's happening as I am real busy atm.
But you are not really missing much. You can already use MTFO to create something custom.
WHAT'S THE BEST WEAPON THAT YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE HERE IN TERMS OF DAMAGE, MAG-CAPACITY, ETC.? Besides the Sniper Rifles, like the Short to Mid-Range Weapon?

It's pretty fun if you get some friends together, and when you all have similar guns or differently modified ones it can be really cool to see them properly in game with correct visuals. I think it's incredible how it works with multiplayer even with vanilla players. But yeah someone may ask why theres a thermal on your heavy smg lmao.
It's fine, just want to say take your time and your mod is very helpful! I just use the VERUTA SPECIAL MOD to reduce the recoil though it cannot do a long burst of fire but it still better than before.
P.S. Saw a lot of ppl asking if you could upload your mod into Thunderstore, and I also would like to be one of them.
Hey henry! If it isn't much work, could we get an option to change all equipment's category names and item names, including tools and melees? would be appreciated! (partially due to some weapons not being translated)
Some overhaul in the mod resulting in the setting files no longer be compatible with the older versions. Not related to the game version. Sorry for confusion.
I am guess here, but I think it is probably because the version 8 is looking for Rundown 8 weapon ids, which do not exist in the custom rundown, causing error.
This mod doesn't really support custom rundowns, but I'll try adding in the next patch to handle this case.
I tried seeking for the logs I had on hand but sadly all of them are overwritten. On the upside tho is that I suppose the "incompatibility" happened due to a personal misconfiguration. I resetted all my other mods' configs and the problem vanished ever since. If the problem occurs once more I will get in touch.
Issue with incompatibility between magazine model and the front part. There are several magazine models missing for some front part. Therefore, it was not possible to do clip size mods with a flexible front parts.
Probably will get moved to BYOG framework, where you set your own weapon model and weapon stats.
Actually, one thing I would change is maybe up the single shot rifle mod of the slug shotgun to 30 damage and still keep its precision multiplier, just reduce its total ammo to compensate as it doesn't have the fire-rate to be used outside of quickly killing one enemy or scout, and upping its damage could make it a pseudo-sniper doing a lot of damage to giants and one shotting all small enemies. (BYOG could also fix this so I can gladly wait if BYOG could have the functionality to change all values to curate something similar all by myself.) If BYOG could accomplish this then don't worry about making any changes.

Is it only happening for short rifle? Can you change scope for other weapons?
Normally, MTFO is used for custom rundowns, which this mod does not support.

The feature is not too important as you can easily achieve the same thing with other mods like MTFO.
