I will try to briefly explain why enb for gta 4 was difficult to develop and it could not be done for DLC FROM gta4 and so after the first version of gta4Boris Vorontsov (the creator of enb) explained why he did not update enb for GTA4 Here's what he said in an interview in 2012:
You have repeatedly said that Rockstar, to put it mildly, makes it difficult to modify their games, in particular, their update policy in terms of GTA 4 was not very convenient for the development of the ENB Series. Can you tell us more about this?
First of all, the game did not work properly for me until patch 1.0.2.0, only the background and the main character were visible. When a working patch appeared, problems began with game errors, due to which some effects periodically worked incorrectly, and while I was fixing everything, another patch appeared that corrected some of these errors and added another portion of the next ones.
Naturally, it’s not a pleasure to re-learn where things are buggy and fix them. I hardly remember what happened there, but the most noticeable thing was the switching off of some type of light sources at night when moving away from them, and a sharp change in the brightness of the light. Testing in GTA 4 took a lot of time, I had to drive around all the areas, switching the weather, carefully look at all objects from different distances, and with each patch it was pure hell to repeat this, I’m already sick of the music, screensavers and other things in the game. It’s my own fault that I was so meticulous; now I don’t waste my time so much.
Why can't Rockstar make their games more colorful in the first place? After all, it’s still easier for them to do it than for you alone.
It's not a matter of colorfulness, there can be many reasons, I'll try to list them as I see them.First of all, fashion has a huge influence: the development of GTA 4 coincided with the trend towards desaturated filters of gray, brown and green, although in fact this phenomenon was probably born of one famous game. It is easy to deceive the vision if you darken the screen greatly and remove the color; it seems more realistic to the player, albeit in some non-standard conditions, so this trick is used in the absence of high-quality lighting and textures.
Lack of taste on the part of the designer or any managers who decide on the appearance of the game from a ready-made set of concepts is also very likely. Laziness of graphics programmers occurs in almost all game projects, why bother and take risks if you can do it easier for the same money? Errors in shaders confuse me, so I can add that the reason is also the lack of qualifications of graphics programmers; this is unacceptable for large projects where everything is double-checked several times.
i mean in nexus requirements says that we need as requirement for your mod: [Reshade Real Visual]-mod. i didnt know that ENB is made only for gta iv. Thank you for your reply. my best regards to you and for your hard work..
This is just a requirement to download Reshade for the game in order to use my mod and it’s a pity that there is no enb for dlc gta4 I know that there is enb for many games but there is no enb for dlc from gta4
