Seems to work but I'm still getting Unhandled Exception c0000005.
Edit: I don't get the error message when I start a new game but I do when I reload a save from before downloading the mod. I downloaded another save and it worked but mine still didn't.
It works, but some glitches happen. The driving physics is off, you can not drive backwards in the game. Sometimes the game throws my character in a random direction when moving around resulting in wasted. You can't shoot the sniper rifle. I have no idea what causes these glitches to happen.
CITRUS5, the creator of classic axis has not updated the mod and an alternative mod does not come with any explanation on how to install it and it simply did not work.
You can simply disable clasic axis by removing both iii_classic_axis.ini & iii_classic_axis.asi files from the game's folder, complete the mission and then add them again. Don't know if this is the fix you'd be expecting or if you already figured this out but so far this should be the workaround.
Oh, I did play the original game it is just I cannot see where I am aiming at, but lo and behold, it was improved somehow and now I can aim much better and it is a lot of fun. I don't use this mod anymore but think this is a nice selection of small mods. I use a community patch now.
for users, I have noticed an issue if you use the camera mod (see iii_classic_axis.asi and iii_classic_axis.ini) the firefighter mission cannot be completed at all. No matter what your mouse settings are, the water jet will move in regards to your mouse, but you cannot see or aim.
This is SO what I needed, the mouse control works amazing in a car and i cannot vouch for this mod enough. Thanks for uploading it, it may not be all your work but you did bring it here. I was ready to eat my hands after failing the paramedic mission 10+ times because the camera is so piss poor and looking back or sideways on a keyboard (I have no controller) is a pain in the butt
seems to work great, no more weird crosshair without aiming, now it works how it should, right mouse to actually aim your gun at people with an animation indicating this is happening.
Works great launching from the executable file, haven't tried launching straight from Steam, I'm guessing it messes up a bit when doing so after reading some of the comments.

"Aim" with Q and E (side views) and shoot with Ctrl (think it was mapped to that key); that's how we used to do it back then.
:) hope it is helpful
