This allow for enemies maximum level scaling with player level above 100: Normal/Veteran difficulty enemies are capped at level 100, Elite difficulty are capped at level 150 and Ultimate difficulty are capped at level 200. Note that for player below level 100, this doesn't change anything.
-

-
Version 20231123
- Updated for Grim Dawn version 1.2.0.2.
- Official support for 'Dawn of Masteries' 1.5.0.
- Updated the custom tool "unMAP.exe" to extract Crate Entertainment MAP9 (Grim Dawn 1.2) files. The updated tool also support MAP8 (Grim Dawn 1.1.8.x ~ 1.1.9.8) files and should support MAP7 (preceding Grim Dawn 1.1.8.x) but this is untested.
- Updated bundled AutoHotkey to version 1.1.37.01.
- Updated FFMPEG to version 5.1.2 which is the 'previous release' version as of this writing.
- Removed the dedicated command "Revert All CoP Files.bat" and merged its functionalities with the "Process All CoP Files.bat" command. See the integrated help for details.
- Implemented a GUI progress bar that show a visual representation of the operation done when processing compiled patches.
- Implemented a method to specify which expansion (GDX level) a GD-DPS MOD should target. This is in preparation for the upcoming GDX3 expansion 'Fangs of Asterkarn'. External GD-DPS batch functions are updated for now so extracting and packing should work for GDX3 files.
- Changed and renamed the dedicated world compiling and decompiling command. They are now named "World Compile.bat" and "World Decompile.bat" respectively. Both now takes a mandatory operation mode arguments Check the integrated GD-DPS console help for details.
- Added two rare items to the "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Miscellaneous Side Quest Item Tweaks" script: 'Slithtongue' which can be found in a Wightmire cave and 'Reddan Memento Ring' dropped by Josephine Reddan.

- Many other important fixes and improvements... Too many to individually list here.
-
Version 20230708
- Added a new interactive script to adjust the number of monsters spawning in mobs. This include regular mobs, factions specifics mobs, corrupted shrines monsters, totems mobs and non-unique bosses and heroes monsters. Note that it does not get applied to 'Dawn of Masteries' because it uses its own system for that namely 'Grimmest'.
- Fixed a minor inconsistency in the script "Better Item Tags" with the 'single' and 'epaulette' tags. It seems crate changed some of the original single sided shoulder protection to be both left and right sided so the 'single' tag was removed for the time being.

- Minor typographical errors fixes and corrections.
-
Version 20230131
- Rebuilt "ARZARC.exe" to target ".NET Framework 4.7.2" with "Microsoft Visual Studio 2022". Several part of the code base was refactored and a robust error reporting system was put in place: Message shown on the console by ARZARC are now also logged to the GD-DPS log file, if one is defined via the environment variable %LogFile%. INFO and WARNING messages are shown and logged but ARZARC.exe execution continue. Critical failure messages, called FATAL ERROR, are shown and logged but the execution of ARZARC.exe is halted and an 'error counter' in the Windows registry is updated. It can later be read and reset via the "QE.bat" command.
- Due to the above changes, the "Install GD-DPS MOD.bat" command can now detect and report critical archives deconstruction and/or reconstruction problems.
- Updated bundled AutoHotkey to version 1.1.36.02.
- Combined both inventory bags related scripts "Five Inventory Bags After First Quest Completion" and "Five Inventory Bags at Normal Difficulty" into a single interactive script.
- Fixed 'Dawn of Masteries' custom creatures with broken ragdoll physics disappearing on kill. They now explode in a gruesome display of gibs and blood when slain.
- Changed the way "empty" Compiled Patches works: Instead of replacing an entry with a blank definition, they now remove that entry from the .DBR file.

- User Text Patch can now be set to use "AppendAsMultiRecord" patching mechanism. See the updated "Readme.txt" file for details.
- Added a self-test batch file named "Test.bat". It can be launched only from the GD-DPS console and will perform a series of test to try and identify what can be the cause of installation issues.
- Updated bundled 7-Zip standalone console tool to version 21.07 dated 2021-12-26.
-
Version 20220113
- Switched the default installation method to 'Hybrid' due to its superior performance and better long term stability. "ArchiveTool.exe" do not play well with .ARC archives created by "ARZARC.exe" and the former may return "assert failed..." type errors, corrupting data in the process, when attempting to alter files made by the latter. To alleviate this, the decision was made to switch to a method that update .ARC archives exclusively with "ArchiveTool.exe". If you encountered these "assert failed" errors in the past, please completely uninstall EU Lite MOD and revert back to a clean slate Grim Dawn installation before re-installing "EU Lite MOD".
- Added a new script called "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Import Grim UI X-Mod Hoarder". It will extract a supplied GD-DPS Package or import the "Grim UI X-Mod Hoarder" extended user interface used in 'Dawn of Masteries', if one or the other are present, to be used as the base UI.
- The script "Better Dismantling" no longer ask the user to confirm installation when 'Dawn of Masteries' is present. It now simply install itself over the base game and leave "DoM" DBR untouched.
- Increased verbosity output to the GD-DPS log file to better detect potential problems during installation.
- Fixed a problem with the "Packager.bat" command not renaming "FileList.txt" to match the name of the package on initial creation.
- The installer now detect if the Grim Dawn installation path is valid or not. Root folder of a drive and any path containing dot '.' character are considered invalid and the installation will abort if this is the case.
- Added a new utility to the GD-DPS Bundle: "MD5.exe". It replace the build-in Windows "CertUtil.exe" as the new MD5 HASH validator and generator. This should fix problems with some non English locale system where "CertUtil.exe" was not reliable.
- Added a new batch script called "Fix Ownership and Permissions.bat". It may help in solving installation issues caused by inappropriate file system ownership and permissions. It can also disable Windows UAC completely. Simply run it from a Windows explorer folder view.
- uTXTp patches can now be applied to 'Dawn of Masteries' custom game mod.
- Added a new user text patch, "'Dawn of Masteries' - Scintillist Sparks Tweaks.txt" that can be applied to reduce the "roamness" factor of this Scintillist particular skill...

- Moved "GD-DPS Util - Garbage Sweeper" operations just before the reconstruction stage instead of just before the patching stage.

Version 20211213
- Include compatibility patches for 'Dawn of Masteries' 1.2.6a: Fix a silent fatal error when rebuilding DoM database with ARZARC preventing the correct loading of this custom game mod.

- Updated "FFMPEG.exe" to latest "essential" stable build as of this writing, version 4.4.1.
- Merged together all the "FFMPEG [...]" file variants functions into "Sanitize Sounds Locally" command.
- Renamed "Install MOD", "CleanUP MOD" and "Uninstall MOD". They now include GD-DPS in their names for clarity.
- Renamed "Uninstall MOD Setup Files" to "Uninstall GD-DPS Setup Files" for the same reason.
- Re-tweaked the following item skills: Aether Tendril cooldown to 0.5 from 2.5 seconds and energy cost to 275 from 55. Demon Breath cooldown to 1 from 3 seconds and energy cost to 170 from 56. Beronath's Fury can only be applied to two-handed weapons and charge duration lowered to 1 from 1.5, maximum charges increased to 10 from 7, charge multipliers adjusted to 99`% - 199`% from 30`% - 110`% and energy cost increased to 99 from 6.
- Fixed a few world "levels" files: Fixed misplaced flame on several hanging lighting bowls in the "Arkovian Colosseum", tweaked flowing water sounds in the "Tomb of the Heretic" and added missing aether field sound effect in the dangerous domain of the "Malmouth Sewers".
- "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Miscellaneous Fixes": Because the codex title entry "I Stand Before the Eldritch Sun" was too long, hence extending over the in-game window boundaries, it was changed to "Eldritch Sun Contemplation".
- "GD-DPS Util - Garbage Sweeper": Implemented an additional cleanup algorithm to remove "files history" section in templates files that have one defined as well as compact consecutive empty lines.
- Fixed devotion skill "Spear of the Heavens" inconsistent and low volume sounds to more appropriate effects.
- Added a new uTXTp patch to alter "Tonic of Mending" and "Elixir of Spirit" regeneration mechanic.
-
Version 20211128
- IMPORTANT! Fixed a nasty bug that will cause all unprotected files directly inside the Grim Dawn folder to be erased if "Cleanup MOD.bat" or "Uninstall MOD.bat" are executed. If you are upgrading from version 211111, DO NOT RUN these two batch files.
- Fixed the bug preventing players from progressing past the first form of the "Ashes of Malmouth" final boss: "The Master of Flesh - Theodin Marcell"
- A new patch make the rune "Glyph of Disorder" actually interesting: It turn it into a pure mobility enhancer as it does not deal any damage. The default cooldown was 4.6 seconds and the energy usage 88. This new patch change the values to 1.0 second for the cooldown but dramatically increase the energy cost to 500.
- Added a new script to adjust the amount of iron bits that drop as loot. Regular gameplay, "The Crucible" and "Endless Dungeons" can all be adjusted independently.
- Added several npcs and monsters having no shadow cast property to the existing script "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Fix for Objects With No Shadow Casting Properties".
- Integrated the function of "Error.bat" into "Validate GDFolder.bat".
- Merged the functionality of the scripts "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Remove Redundant Files", "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Remove Unreferenced and Unused Files" and "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Remove Unused Sound Files AKA Crate's Orphans" into a single "utility class" script named "GD-DPS Util - Garbage Sweeper". It now run before patches compilation and can be disabled via an environment variable called "GarbageSweeping".
- Changed the default GD-DPS MOD priority to 5000 from 777 and, as a result, changed the default uTXTp priority to 7500 from 1777.
- Reworked the different "method" used during installing. See the "Setup.bat" file at the relevant section for details.

- User text patch can now be parsed and compiled when installing a GD-DPS MOD by invoking "Install MOD.bat".

- Updated bundled AutoHotkey to version 1.1.33.10.
- Added a warning to the script "Better Item Tags" about possible problems when also using "Wanez GD Tools" to create colored tags. Included in the "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Readme.txt" file are the lines that needs to be imported in "Wanez GD Tools", via the system clipboard, to have proper coloration on the new tags.
- Implemented an automatic source file detection mechanism to the "Generate_CoP" function. Passing only a partial source file path, omitting the "Source\GDX?" portion, trigger this new method. It scan, from GDX2 down to GDX0, each source sub-folders and attempt to locate the requested file, patching only the first one it detects.
-
Version 20210827
- Added a new script to "unlock devotion skills" so that they can be assign/linked to any character skills independently of skills types. Some combination might not work well or not work at all...

- Updated some world levels that had minor inconsistencies.
- Added a new script to change items in game UI "tags" to alleviate item name repetition like "Preserver", "Redeemer" and "Exalted". It does not add new items it just changes some of the names to better reflect what the item actually is.
- Added a new script to convert "Light Radius Bonus" which is, in my opinion, completely useless, to a damage bonus against both Chthonics and Undeads. This only affect prefixed items, not special ones. Affected affixes are "Luminous", "Celestial" and "Light Bringer's".
- Added a new script called "Better Dismantling" to adjust the inventor NPC item dismantling function. It is user configurable via script file editing. Open the script in a text editor to learn more. As is, it will change the dismantling outcome to include all but the most common components as well as special crafting materials. Chances of obtaining a particular component are based on its "itemLevel" value: The higher the level, the lower the chances that it will drop from dismantling.
- The script "Remove Redundant Files" now use a smart automatic method to remove redundant DBR records files instead of relying on an hand created list.
- Fixed two edge cases concerning "Polished Emerald" and "Resilient Plating" components having improper UI information tags when altered by the "Less Strict Components Fusioning" script.
-

The "Dawn Shard" item skill now feature unique sounds as well. Shaman "Wind Devil" now have their own unique alive sounds, attack sounds and vanish sounds. Magical blue flames now have their own unique sounds. Shield slam skills now have unique sounds when activated and on hit.
- Slightly lowered the falloff distance of all waterfall related sounds.
- Fixed "Korvaak's Servant" enemies skills sounds in the GDX2 expansion being too loud resulting in clipping and auditory overload.
- Tweaked the "Aetherial Factory" ambience sounds: Lowered volume of human moaning so that they appear farther away and reordered some of the other sounds for variety. Also added organic "meaty" sounds to various tumors, veins and other organs. Since the "Maw of Enaht" use the same assets this also gets applied to parts of it.
- Fourth and final pass on levels sound fixes: More than 990 level tiles and several thousands sound generators were updated during this whole process in an attempt to have accurately positioned ambience sounds across the whole game. The only remaining unedited levels are the "Endless Dungeons" series...
-
Version 20210505
- Fixed an audio clipping problem in the "Void's Edge" level.

- Improvement to some patching functions: Now detects when attempting to load DBRs from a non existing folder and display a warning message.
- Added a dialog box to the script "Non Linear Class Attributes Progression" to optionally input a fixed attributes total to use for all classes. Any class that use a different total then the one specified will have their individual attributes maximums scaled proportionally. Mostly useful to either change the base classes attributes total of 2400 or to bring "Dawn of Masteries" classes attributes total inline with the default value.
- Improved the optional restoration method performed after re-installation of the mod: There are now 2 methods. One is fast and restore all locally extracted contents from the source archives directly. The other is slower but allows for the complete restoration of the locally extracted contents from the source extracted contents effectively preserving any manual modifications done to said source contents.
- Several minor modifications to underlying mechanism in an attempt to make GD-DPS more fail proof.
-

- Added a new environment sound for large and unbreakable "aether gemstones".

- Fixed a regression bug in the script "Pet Movement Speed Rescaler" causing it to fail miserably when entering any values other than 0...
- Third pass of levels sound fixes reintegration from pre-1.1.9.1 version. Some GDX2 levels are still not updated. Next update will include them and should be even better than pre-1.1.9.1.

Simply delete or rename the script "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Five Inventory Bags After First Quest Completion" extension to something else to disable it.
- Fixed a regression bug in the "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Less Strict Components Fusioning" script that was causing some component information about where they can be used to be incorrect.
- Second pass of levels sound fixes reintegration from pre-1.1.9.1 version. GDX2, the Void and a few other sections are still not up to par with 1.1.9.0 fixes. I will continue fixing sound issues in the future.
-
Version 20210401

- If "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD" is installed and the "Install MOD.bat" is launched again, the installation process will ask the user if they want to reset all data to the Grim Dawn default. This allow for easy reverting back of "no longer desired" settings, entries and resources on any reinstallation.
- Added a new setting to "Setup.bat" called "FastDeconstruct". Now that both construction mode can be set to fast, the "SET MTSwitches=/MIN /LOW /B /WAIT" setting have been moved outside of configurable options.
- Added a new setting to "Setup.bat" called "Simulate". When defined, this will change how GD-DPS performs operations to a simulated mode: No data is written to drive in this mode allowing for faster testing and debugging.
- At the very end of the installation, when generating the "Debug Data.log" file, the MD5 HASH checksum of the file "Grim Dawn.exe" is computed and stored in said log.
- Fixed main quest "Murderers and Worse" not spawning the target boss bandit Edmund "Shanks" Doyle if player level is above 100.
- Deactivated generation of MD5 HASH from all game archives during the last stage of the installation as it is not useful at this time.
- Some scripts, when executed, now ask the user certain questions concerning some settings via an AutoHotkey input window.
- Made ambience in the "Dermapterans Tunnels" more organic by increasing burbs and blobs sound occurrence frequency.
- Started a first improvement pass on unique weapons with unique sounds.
- Replaced "Horn of Gandarr" overly amplified sound effects with better, "hornishier", ones.
- Usual batch of improvements to the whole system including a more secure and controllable "file handler" for copying and moving files around.
-
Version 20210201
- Slightly changed the way "ARZARC" output progress to the console for improved clarity.
- Tweaked water sounds to have more random pitch variations to try and prevent "slightly out of tune chorus like noise" when two or more water sounds plays at the same time.
- Added a new water sound "Large Water Stream".
- Increased maximum player level to 200. Foes above level 100 are spawning in the main game only at Ultimate difficulty.
- Further increased the number of items in the script "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Miscellaneous Side Quest Item Tweaks" to include unique rares found near Devil's Crossing like "Francis' Gun" or "Hevil's GreatSword".
- Implemented a new script "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Pet Movement Speed Rescaler" to scale player summonable pets movement speed by a fixed factor. Default rescale value is set to 1, so no rescale occurs.
-
Version 20210128
- Compatible with Grim Dawn 1.1.9.0.
- The install script now ask the user if they want to continue or abort installation in cases where the Grim Dawn executable does not match predefined MD5 HASH values. Should allow for installation on future update of the game and with unknown executable signature.
- Fixed non compliant behaviors of "Export as Final Build to Target" command when destination is non existent.
- Corrected a few remaining ambient sound problems throughout Cairn. Mostly related to water bodies.
- Improved sound ambience in the "Void's Edge" level.
- Minor fixes and tweaks to the whole system.
-
Version 20210105
- Increased all of the "level limit layer" to 200 in "World.sd" file. This should allow for progression past level 100 if the DBR entry "playerMaxLevel" is also set above 100. This is untested. Player level above 100 will be activated, if it works, in a future update.
- Fixed a problem with the script "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Less Strict Components Fusioning.ahk" not properly changing the UI tags for "boots only" components.
- Changed the constellation "Revenant" skill summon skeleton cooldown from 2 seconds to 1 second.
- Added a new script to make it possible to receive all 5 inventory bags at Normal or Veteran difficulty level.
- Further increased the maximum devotion points obtainable to 200 from the previous maximum of 99.
- Implemented a new switch for "unMAP.exe" called "-onlyworld". If specified, will only write the world .WRL file. No levels or TGA files will be created.
- Added more variety to ranged weapons firing sounds.
- Second pass of audio fixing around the world of Cairn. Should now cover most of the major audio problems. More fixes are expected in the future as I discover problems in my playthroughs.
- Many improvements to the whole system in general.
-
Version 20201221
- Implemented a new mechanism to patch data files: Compiled patch or CoP for short. MOD can now patch the same file multiple time without problem by providing an optional patch priority level. Inter MOD patching is also made easier. Finally, patch uninstallation is also possible.
- Added a new operational method called "Hybrid". It deconstruct the data files using "ARZARC.exe" but reconstruct them using "ArchiveTool.exe" and "AssetManager.exe". Not fully automated.
- Implemented a new reconstruction mode called "FastReconstruct". It is off by default but it can be enabled in "Setup.bat". When enabled, the reconstruction process will work in parallel to build the .ARZ and .ARC files.
- Sped up final stage MD5 Hash dumping considerably by leveraging multi-threading.
- Implemented a new GD-DPS command: "Run MODPattern Scripts.bat". It execute all AHK script that fit "ModPattern" definition then wait for completion before returning control of the console.
- Splitted all rain and thunderstorm climate modification from "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Various Sounds Fix & Improvements.ahk" to their own scipt called "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Higher Probability of Bad Weather.ahk". This way, it can be disabled easily.
- Implemented a "last chance" delay to the "Wait for Process to Finish.ahk" script. It should make it more reliable when monitoring lots of fast executing processes.
- Now, when "Debug" is set to "True" in "Setup.bat", modification and addition made by patching operations are logged to the "Debug Data.log" file.
- If "Debug" set to true in "Setup.bat" AHK script now show their tray icon. This can be used to stop a misbehaving script during testing.
- "unMAP.exe" is now able to decompress "MainMenu.map" without problems.
- Added the MD5 HASH of the 32 bit Grim Dawn.exe from GoG to the install verification process.
- Continued improving the climate, weather and ambient sounds this time for the "Ashes of Malmouth" content. Mourndale, Ugdenbog and Gloomwald areas have been tweaked. The "void" also received its own thunderstorm sound effect.
- Void rift/gate now have their own unique sound effect.
- Starting a first pass on fixing audio problems in many places around the world of Cairn. Since these are going to be edited "levels", I am packaging them in their own individual file so that they can be disabled easily.
- Many system wide tweaks and improvements, hopefully...
-
Version 20201213
- New custom utility to extract .MAP file components: unMAP.exe. Based on MapDecomp source code.
- Fixed problem with "Packager.bat" not working correctly.
- Added a method to detect when running in "console mode" to allow for command selective behaviors.
- Improved the core GD-DPS AHK function "Insert_Or_Replace_In_DBR()" to support DBR multirecord insertion at any position in the list.
- New "Better Sounding Weather" patches targeting, for now, thunderstorm and rain. No more silent storm! Features 3 different thunderstorm styles. Also improve climate system. Expect more rain where rain used to be discrete. This adds about 32MiB to the mod size: Have to stay within the constraints of the rather weak Grim Dawn audio system...
- The installation process now check if the machine is running a 64 bit version of Windows and abort otherwise.
- As usual, more fixes and polishing to the whole system.
-
Version 20201130
- Numerous improvements across the whole system. Lots of small and no so small problems fixed, hopefully.
- New custom made utility "ARZARC" (based on ARZEdit code) to handle archives files. Vastly improved speed: up to 6x faster for ARZ creation and extraction. It also handles files dates properly when packing or unpacking for repeatable file hash validation when the content do not change between rebuilds.
- Added a GD-DPS console window: A reconfigured windows command line console with integrated help function.
- Removed the "Grim Dawn EU Lite MOD - Better Sounding Heavy Rain & Thunder" GD-DPS Package as the result where inconclusive.
- Swapped new medium fire for small fire sounds and vice-versa.
-
Version 20201116
- Generates "Debug Data.log" on Installation Completion.
- More fixes for potential install problems.
- Implemented a new installation method called "Simple". Not fully automated but might be worth a try in case the game fail to load with the regular installation method.
-
Version 20201115
- Fixed a major issue with the installation process failing miserably when Crucible is not present...
- Due to the above fix, a method is now in place to detect which version of the game is present in the working folder. Currently it detects 3 types of installation but it can be modified to detect more so selective version patching, for example, the base game only without any expansion, is now possible.
- Improved "GD-DPS Packager.bat" and "Unpack Package at Target.bat"
- Changed the way 7-Zip integrates with the GD-DPS packager.
- Implemented a method to have a batch file automatically execute and self-destruct after extracting a GD-DPS Package. Useful for performing actions other than file injection.
- Fixed an improperly formed patch that was leaving unused and unnecessary OGG file behind.
- Converted all "loose" resources that were left to "GD-DPS Package".
-
Version 20201113
- Included a changelog
- Included a readme file
- Made the installation startup more robust by assuming the current folder is the Grim Dawn working folder. A verification is still conducted and if it fails, revert to the default method of having to edit the "Setup.bat" batch file. Editing the Setup.bat for standard installation should no longer be required.
- Made "Wait for Process to Finish.exe" much more focused. Should no longer wait for seemingly unrelated windows or process to close.
- Fixed reference to Grim Dawn 1.1.8.2 in some places... As of this writing, it is part of the future.
- Implemented a few additionals "Murphy Proof" verifications.
- Removed the batch file "Delete Unnecessary Ambient Sound Files Locally.bat" and integrated its function in the related AHK script instead.
- Moved sound files deletion from the "Sanitize Sounds Locally.bat" batch file to the corresponding AHK script.
- Moved music file deletion from the "Delete Music Files Locally.bat" batch file to the corresponding AHK script.
- Moved unused file deletion from "Delete Various Unused Files Locally.bat" to an AHK script instead.
- Moved the related sound WAV and DBR files manipulation for 1 Handed and 2 Handed Sound Randomizer to their corresponding AHK script.
- Moved the "MODPattern" environment variable from the "Install MOD.bat" batch file to the "Setup.bat" batch file and added comments to better explain its function.
- Changed the prompt when executing "Setup.bat" to "GD-DPS>"
- Updated "World Compile Locally from Source.bat" and "World Decompile from Source to Source.bat" to use the "setup was invoked" detection method.
- Implemented a "GD-DPS Package" mechanism to deliver new data via disguised self extracting archives. Many files that were part of the mod are now bundled in packages. More to come...
- The "Create Database Locally.bat" batch file now support input argument to only create the needed ARZ database. Valid arguments are "ALL", "GDX0", "GDX1", "GDX2", "SM0", "SM1" and "SM2". Default is "ALL".
- Fixes new pistol sounds not defined correctly in the corresponding DBR file resulting in missing firing sounds for some guns.
